Is the Stranger Things season 5 finale coming to UK cinemas?

Fans of Stranger Things are in for a treat this season! Netflix has announced that the series finale will be shown in select cinemas. Unfortunately, this special cinematic experience won’t be available to viewers in the UK.

The season finale, expected to be around two hours long, will be shown in over 500 theaters, but unfortunately, the UK won’t be one of those locations, according to Entertainment Weekly.

An announcement on the official Stranger Things Instagram page revealed details for a fan screening event, which will be held in the US and Canada from December 31st to January 1st.

One fan expressed the huge popularity of Stranger Things in India, stating that the final episodes should be shown in cinemas instead of being limited to streaming. They emphasized that Indian fans really want to see it on the big screen.

UK-based fans also chimed in, posting: “And in London please.”

Despite the time difference, UK viewers can still watch the final episodes of Stranger Things at home on January 1st.

Episode eight of season five, titled “The Rightside Up,” is two hours and five minutes long, making it the second longest episode of Stranger Things after the season four finale, “The Piggyback.”

Showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer released a statement speaking on the cinematic release of “The Rightside Up,” stating:

We’re thrilled fans will get to see the last episode of Stranger Things on the big screen – it’s been a long-held dream of ours. We’re incredibly thankful to Ted Sarandos, Bela Bajaria, and the entire Netflix team for making it a reality (according to Entertainment Weekly).

Seeing it on the big screen with amazing sound and visuals, surrounded by fellow fans, feels like the ultimate way to celebrate finishing this project.

The fifth season of the show launched in late November and quickly became a hit, attracting 59.6 million viewers in its first five days. This made it the biggest premiere week ever for an English-language series on Netflix, according to The Guardian. It’s now the third most popular debut on the platform overall, following seasons two and three of Squid Game.

Okay, so the first part of Stranger Things season 5 is finally here on Netflix! I’ve already started binging it. And get this – part 2 drops on Christmas Day, which is awesome. If you’re in the UK, part 3 won’t be out until New Year’s Eve, a little bit of a wait, but totally worth it, I’m sure!

The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops or order it online for only £8.99.
