A new trailer and poster have been revealed for the upcoming horror film, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. This movie is the fourth in the 28 Days Later series and was filmed right after the previous installment. The first trailer was released back in September.

Ahead of its release, the upcoming movie 28 Years Later has unveiled a new trailer and poster. The trailer, which is 2 minutes and 19 seconds long, showcases Ralph Fiennes in his role as Dr. Ian Kelson. Jack O’Connell also stars as the menacing cult leader, Jimmy Crystal.

The poster shows a spectral figure, likely Dr. Kelson, standing before the bone structures he created, all set against a fiery backdrop.

In 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Dr. Kelson unexpectedly enters a relationship that could have global repercussions, while Spike finds himself trapped in a terrifying ordeal involving Jimmy Crystal. The film is directed by Nia DaCosta, known for her work on The Marvels, and written by Alex Garland.

The film features Alfie Williams as Spike, Erin Kellyman as Jimmy Ink, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Jamie, Chi Lewis-Parry as Samson, and Emma Laird as Jimmima, alongside the previously mentioned actors. Cillian Murphy is also returning to play Jim, a role he famously played in 28 Days Later.

Released in 2002, 28 Days Later was a hit with both critics and audiences, inspiring a series of follow-up films. 28 Weeks Later arrived in 2007, and 28 Years Later in 2025. Danny Boyle, the director of the original, also directed 28 Years Later and is set to direct the fifth, currently untitled, installment. Alex Garland wrote the screenplays for the first, third, and fourth films, and will also write the fifth.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple debuts in US theaters on January 16, 2026.
