Daisy Edgar-Jones praised as one of the “best actors around” as she makes TV return with new series

While Daisy Edgar-Jones has found success in movies lately, she’s heading back to television soon. She’s working on a new series written by a highly respected screenwriter, and it’s expected to be a big hit.

I’m so excited! The star of Normal People and Twisters is going to be in this new show called Mosquito! He’ll be acting alongside Nicholas Hoult, and it’s a six-part comedy-drama that Hulu and Disney+ are making. I can’t wait to watch it!

Described as a funny and insightful look at marriage, Mosquito features Kate and Ed, a newlywed couple whose carefully constructed facades begin to crumble as everyday life – and one annoying mosquito – exposes their hidden truths.

Tony McNamara, known for his collaborations with Yorgos Lanthimos on films like The Favourite and Poor Things, is writing the series. He previously created the satirical historical drama The Great, which also starred Nicholas Hoult.

The Academy Award nominee is also skilled at producing emotionally intense dramas that are cleverly funny. He most recently wrote the screenplay for The Roses.

The BAFTA-winning screenwriter of The Favourite shared their excitement about collaborating with two incredibly talented actors. They’re eager to start making a really funny movie with them.

Disney’s Eric Schrier and Angela Jain praised writer Glenn McNamara as exceptionally talented, highlighting his skill in crafting compelling and layered stories. They noted his knack for writing sharp, detailed dialogue infused with a distinctive dark wit and depth.

I’m really excited for Edgar-Jones’ new show, Mosquito! It’s been a while since I’ve seen him on TV – the last thing was Under the Banner of Heaven back in 2022, where he acted alongside Andrew Garfield and Sam Worthington. It’ll be great to see him back on screen after four years!

Besides starring in the disaster movie Twisters, Daisy Edgar-Jones has also appeared in Where the Crawdads Sing and On Swift Horses. On Swift Horses features a talented cast, including Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, and Diego Calva.

I’m really excited about Mosquito, but I just heard about another project she’s working on – a new take on Sense and Sensibility! The cast is amazing too – Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, and Frank Dillane are all going to be in it. Can’t wait to see that one!

Mosquito will air on Disney+ and Hulu.

I’m so excited – the latest issue of Living Legends is out! You can grab a copy of Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or online for only £8.99. I can’t wait to read it!
