The popular Snowball Fight game mode is coming back to VALORANT after a five-year break, promising a fun and festive experience this Christmas!
VALORANT’s popular Snowball Fight game mode is back! Originally released five years ago as a limited-time event for the holidays, players can once again enjoy this festive way to play.
Snowball Fight returns to VALORANT
Snowball Fight is a 5v5 team mode where the first team to get 50 eliminations wins. It’s a simple, chaotic, and fun experience without any agent abilities – just straightforward gameplay. Players can select any agent and use the Snowball Launcher to fire snowballs at the opposing team.
The gun has unlimited snowballs, but you have to wait a short time to reload after each shot. Each snowball does 150 damage to other players. A typical match lasts around seven to nine minutes. You earn 750 experience points per game, and an extra 150 XP if your team wins.
During the match, you can catch orbs that will give you special powers. They can be:
- Growball: The Snowballs grow over time while travelling in the air
- Rapid Fire: Infinite magazine, increased rate of fire to 1.667 rounds per second
- Ricochet: Snowballs can bounce off the ground and walls
- Skates: Increased movement speed and max jump height
In 2020, Riot Games gave players a special ‘Snow Bro’ gun buddy for playing the first-ever Snowball Fight game mode. As of now, it’s unknown if they’ll offer a similar reward this year.
Release date
VALORANT’s Snowball Fight game mode is scheduled to return for the Christmas season, and should be available in the next few days. Riot Games hasn’t announced the exact release date yet.
