Cruz Beckham shared a video of himself playing and singing The Stone Roses‘ song ‘Shoot You Down’ on guitar, as a tribute to their recently deceased bassist, Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield.
Last month, The Stone Roses honored their former bassist, Mani, following the sad news of his brother Greg’s passing, which Greg announced on Facebook with a heartfelt message: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother. Gary Mani Mounfield RIP.’
Twenty-year-old Cruz recently posted a video on Instagram of himself playing and singing his own version of the band’s hit song, “Shoot You Down,” which was originally released in 1989.
The young musician, wearing a red T-shirt with a design and grey sweatpants, powerfully sang the song.
Fans flocked to the comments to praise Cruz’s ‘beautiful’ voice and guitar skills.
A fan praised the artist, saying he’s beautiful and has a lovely voice with great potential. They also said the music sounds wonderful when he sings it and expressed excitement for his future album.

While another added: ‘Bangin song more of this lad x’
Cruz also shared a photo on Instagram of himself with his dad, David, age 50, hanging out with sports agent Dave Gardner and singer Marc Anthony.
He posted such a cute old photo of himself! It was taken way back on June 25, 2015 – you can even see it’s from a digital camera, which is a fun little detail. I loved seeing it!
Just two weeks after the passing of Stone Roses bassist Mani at age 63, Cruz shared a new singing post.
I was so incredibly saddened to hear about Gary. From what I understand, he passed away at his home in Heaton Moor, Stockport, after unexpectedly collapsing due to a seizure. It’s just devastating news.
Family sources say that an ambulance was called, but he couldn’t be revived.
The Stone Roses shared a nostalgic photo of Gary and paid tribute to their bassist, Mani, who has sadly passed away. They described him as a wonderful brother, the best bass player, and a cherished friend.
Lead singer Ian Brown, 62, took to his own page to share his tribute: ‘Rest In Peace Mani’.

Ian also reshared a fan post, which included a throwback photo of when they met the band.
I was so sad to hear about the passing of Mani, the bassist for The Stone Roses. I actually met him, Reni, and Ian Brown at a bar back in 2016 and managed to say hello – it was a great experience.
They were incredibly kind and down-to-earth – genuinely funny, warm, and lovely. Thank you for the music, Mani. Rest in peace.
According to the Daily Mail, Noel and Liam Gallagher learned about Mani’s passing on Thursday afternoon, a few hours before his brother, Greg, publicly shared the news. Reports indicate the Gallagher brothers are devastated by the loss.
This news follows the death of his wife, Imelda Mounfield, who passed away from cancer two years ago. Imelda, a mother of twin sons, received a bowel cancer diagnosis three years prior.
