Stranger Things Season 5’s Mr. Whatsit & Max Get New Posters

Netflix recently revealed new posters for the fifth season of Stranger Things, offering fans their first official glimpse of the characters Mr. Whatsit and Max Mayfield. These posters arrived shortly after the release of the first part of the season and before the premiere of the second part on December 25th.

New posters for Henry and Max in Stranger Things Season 5

I’m so excited for the final season of Stranger Things! Netflix just released a new set of posters, and I noticed they were really smart about who they featured. They’d already shown off posters for characters like Eleven and the rest of The Party, but Max and Henry Creel were missing at first. Now it all makes sense – keeping them off those initial posters was a brilliant way to keep those big reveals from episodes one through four a total surprise! It really shows how much thought they’re putting into building the suspense.

In the first part of Stranger Things season four, we learn that Henry Creel was actually hiding as a man named Mr. Whatsit. He gained the trust of children and tricked them into entering a fake, peaceful world based on 1950s Hawkins, called Camazotz. Surprisingly, Holly Wheeler receives assistance from Max Mayfield while trapped there, even though Max is in a coma in the real world at Hawkins General Hospital.

The initial poster showcases Jamie Campbell Bower as Henry Creel, portraying his creepy Mr. Whatsit guise. While Vecna returns in Chapter 4, Netflix hasn’t released a Season 5 poster highlighting his frightening monster appearance just yet.

The second poster features Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield. Even though Max is trapped inside Henry’s mental world, her body hasn’t changed – she’s still in a coma. Previous reports suggested she’d stay comatose until about halfway through Season 5, and this continues to fit with what’s happening in the story.

The latest episode, “Escape from Camazotz,” suggests what might happen in the final part of Stranger Things Season 5. It seems Max could be key to freeing Holly and the other children trapped inside Vecna’s mind, while the rest of the group focuses on finding and protecting their physical bodies in the real world. Now, viewers will have to wait and see how it all plays out.
