Miley Cyrus sparks engagement rumors as she wears a ring on THAT finger at Avatar premiere with boyfriend Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, attended the premiere of Avatar: Fire And Ash in Los Angeles on Monday, leading to speculation that they might be engaged.

The 33-year-old Grammy winner and Morando, 27, looked comfortable together as they posed for photos on the red carpet before entering the famous Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Fans spotted a large diamond ring on Miley Cyrus’s left ring finger, sparking speculation after her previous marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus was first seen wearing the diamond ring, set in a gold band, in photos posted to Instagram celebrating her 33rd birthday on November 23rd.

Just a few days after the initial attention, the former star of Hannah Montana ensured the moment continued to shine during the red carpet photos at Monday’s event.

Miley Cyrus began dating Liam Hemsworth in 2021, after their complicated, ten-year on-again, off-again relationship ended in divorce.

She’s playfully called herself a ‘cougar’ because her partner, Morando, is six years younger, but she emphasizes that she views their age difference as a good thing.

Cyrus paired her eye-catching gold diamond ring with another diamond ring on her left index finger.

She wore rings on her right hand that matched her diamond necklace.

For the premiere, Cyrus turned heads in a stunning black gown. The dress featured a sparkly, strapless top and a full, flowing skirt with a long train.

She confidently rocked a classic Hollywood style, showcasing many of her more than 50 tattoos.

Cyrus had messy, wavy hair that was a dirty blonde color, styled with a lot of volume swept to one side.

To enhance her blue eyes, the singer, known for her song ‘Flowers’, used a blend of black and brown eyeshadow, softly smudging it along both her upper and lower eyelids.

She applied a subtle pink-nude lipstick to her lips and used bronzer and a soft peach blush to accentuate her sculpted cheekbones and facial features.

Besides spending time with her musician boyfriend, Miley Cyrus confidently worked the red carpet on her own, posing for pictures in front of the large Avatar exhibits at the theater.

Morando seemed genuinely happy to be there for Cyrus, who wrote the song ‘Dream as One’ for the new James Cameron movie, coming to theaters on December 19th.

Morando, a professional drummer, dressed for the event in a black jacket, black pants, and a white button-down shirt.

He had his usual shaggy brunette hairstyle and finished the look with classic black leather dress shoes.

Cyrus and Morando started dating after a blind date in late 2021, but they didn’t publicly confirm their relationship until 2022.

In a 2023 interview with British Vogue, the actress described her first date, explaining that it was a blind date for her, but not for him. She went into it thinking, ‘Even if it doesn’t go well, I can always just leave.’

The couple generally prefers to keep their relationship private, but they’ve made a few public appearances this year.

In March, Miley and Maxx attended the Academy Awards together in Hollywood, and later that night, they were also seen at the Vanity Fair Oscars party.

Just a month before, the two celebrities were seen together at both the SNL 50th Anniversary celebration in New York City and a homecoming concert, with Miley Cyrus’s mother, Tish Cyrus, also in attendance.

The singer said that, even though he’s younger, the other person is a lot like him – they both prefer to live life with a lighthearted attitude.

Miley Cyrus began dating Morando almost two years after her divorce from Liam Hemsworth was finalized in January 2020.

The former couple first met while filming The Last Song and married in December 2019. They had been dating on and off for about ten years before tying the knot.

But, just eight months later, Cyrus and Hemsworth shockingly separated in August 2019.

By the time their divorce was finalized, they had only been married 13 months.

In a 2020 interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Miley Cyrus candidly described her divorce from Liam Hemsworth as ‘really awful’.

‘What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore,’ the Midnight Sky singer told Rogan.

‘That’s okay, I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainizing, and just all those stories.’ 

Cyrus hinted that cheating may have contributed to her divorce. Following her split from Liam Hemsworth, she quickly began dating Kaitlynn Carter, and later had a ten-month relationship with Cody Simpson, which ended in August 2020.

Honestly, it blows my mind that people are acting like there’s no way something happened before all this came out! Like, they think the rumors just magically appeared? There had to be something that sparked them, some little thing everyone missed, and it’s so obvious to me! I just wish everyone else could see it too.

It’s not as simple as suddenly going from being happy and carefree to being passionately involved with a friend while on vacation. There’s a whole journey of experiences and feelings you likely missed that led to that moment.

Cyrus claimed that there was ‘too much conflict’ in her marriage to Hemsworth.

She told Howard Stern in December 2020 that she wants a stable and supportive partner to come home to, and she avoids conflict and unnecessary drama.

Many people think Miley Cyrus’s popular 2023 song, Flowers – which won a Grammy – is about the end of her marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

While promoting the song, Cyrus finally revealed the moment she knew their marriage was over. 

In a TikTok video from September 2023, she revealed she decided to end her marriage to Liam Hemsworth while performing at the Glastonbury Festival in England in 2019.

Miley Cyrus explained that the decision to marry Liam Hemsworth happened after Glastonbury in June. She said it came from a place of love – they’d been together for ten years – but also stemmed from shared past trauma.

In November 2018, just before their wedding, a couple tragically lost their home in Malibu to the Woolsey Fire. This devastating fire killed three people and destroyed over 1,600 buildings.

Cyrus said she and her ex-partner were attempting to fix things quickly, but their efforts actually caused more problems than they solved.

Performing at Glastonbury the next year, she realized the relationship wasn’t going to last.

Cyrus wasn’t the only celebrity at the premiere of James Cameron’s new Avatar movie on Monday night. Many other big stars attended the event.

Zoe Saldana, known for her role as Neytiri in the Avatar movies since the first film in 2009, stunned in a beautiful, one-shoulder green dress.

The dress featured a bold, high slit that revealed the 47-year-old Oscar winner’s fit legs and black heels.

Oh my gosh, Billie Eilish was there! I nearly lost it! She was showing love for James Cameron, which makes total sense because he’s co-directing her concert film – the one in 3D! Can you believe it? It’s not coming out until March 20, 2026, but I’ve already marked my calendar. I’m SO excited!
