Jada Pinkett Smith warned Will’s best friend he’d ‘end up missing’ if he kept gossiping about them, explosive lawsuit claims

According to newly revealed court documents, Jada Pinkett Smith allegedly warned a friend of Will Smith that he would face consequences – implying harm – if he continued to discuss her private life.

Alternatively he would ‘catch a bullet,’ the papers filed by Bilaal Salaam allege.

Salaam, who also goes by Brother Bilaal, is claiming Jada Pinkett Smith caused him emotional harm and is asking for $3 million in damages.

He is representing himself in the case, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to court documents, Jada, age 54, confronted Salaam with a group of seven people in the lobby of a Calabasas, California hotel in September 2021. This happened during a private party celebrating Will’s 53rd birthday.

I was shocked to hear how things escalated. He said she became really aggressive with her words, actually threatened him, and insisted he sign a confidentiality agreement, warning there would be consequences if he didn’t. That’s when he tried to leave, heading for his car, but one of the people with them actually followed him and continued to yell threats. It was a really frightening situation to hear about.

Salaam, who briefly appeared in Will Smith’s 2000 film The Legend of Bagger Vance, said the man in the suit had been a close friend for almost four decades.

He stated that their relationship is supported by Will Smith’s memoir, titled Will, which includes the plaintiff either by name or in photographs, and by public statements made by actor D.L. Hughley.

Salaam says he suffered greatly, developing PTSD, high blood pressure, and Type 2 diabetes, and gained a significant amount of weight. He also states this led to him isolating himself for almost two years, ultimately costing him his relationship and time with his children.

After submitting the legal documents, Salaam told the Daily Mail he’s pursuing legal action to get justice for the harm he says Will and Jada Smith caused him.

He explained that the three charges relate to his former best friend’s wife, but he also intends to press charges against 57-year-old Will.

According to Salaam, he received further threats right after the 2022 Oscars, following the incident where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock due to a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss condition.

Duane Martin, the actor, reached out to him for help managing a crisis, but he turned him down. He explained that he couldn’t participate in anything that involved covering up facts or misleading the public, as it went against his principles.

Martin told him he would have ‘serious problems with Jada if he refused to help, his papers say.

He then received threats from three of Smith’s associates, he claims.

The threats got worse once people found out he was writing a book about his experiences with the Smiths.

Salaam is taking legal action against Jada, claiming she caused him emotional distress by publicly denying to TMZ that she’d ever witnessed any inappropriate behavior between her husband and other men.

He claimed she knew the statement was untrue, referencing a video he’d released. The video allegedly showed Will Smith inappropriately touching actor Alfonso Ribeiro – including sexually explicit contact – while Jada Pinkett Smith and their children were present.

He claimed she intentionally tried to damage his reputation by suggesting he had lied about Will, and that this made him appear untrustworthy and a target of public mockery.

According to Salaam, the immense pressure led to the downfall of his jewelry brand, Bopulent. He stated that Bopulent, which he advertised as a luxury brand, had received endorsements from celebrities like Kevin Hart, Jamie Foxx, Viola Davis, and Snoop Dogg.

He explained that writing his planned memoir – which included a $500,000 advance – had to be stopped because he was overwhelmed with fear and emotional distress.

According to court records, Jada launched a public campaign to damage Salaam’s reputation, starting with an appearance on an iHeartMedia radio show.

According to court documents, she claimed Salaam tried to blackmail him by demanding money, falsely accusing him of criminal extortion.

According to the court filing, Jada announced she and her husband intended to sue him, which harmed his reputation, but they never actually filed a lawsuit.

The accusations center on Salaam’s story that he unexpectedly saw Will Smith and Duane Martin engaged in a sexual act some time in the past.

According to a nine-page document filed with the court, the statement was untrue, irresponsible, and deliberately intended to sway public opinion and harm the plaintiff’s reputation.

Reps for Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith did not respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
