Story Highlights

  • Neo mo.co revamp brings classes, new systems, and a complete redesign of core gameplay.
  • Power grind removed as progression shifts to mastery tracks, class unlocks, and player rewards.
  • No shutdown risk as mo.co continues development as the big 2026 update still awaits a release date.

Fans of mo.co have something to look forward to! Supercell, the game’s developer, recently released the second episode of their “mo.convo” podcast, hinting at major updates and a significant “neo” overhaul coming to the monster-hunting action RPG.

This time, the team involved creators directly by having them play an early version of the game with Community Manager Joao Freitas. They tested the weapons and gave their honest opinions. Here’s a breakdown of what I gathered, explained as clearly as possible.

mo.co shifts to classes, with power progression removed with the neo revamp

The biggest update is a shift from creating builds to choosing classes. Previously, you had to combine different items to make a powerful build, but now you select a class that comes with its own unique weapons, abilities, combos, and how it plays. This fixes the problem of only a handful of builds being effective.

Each weapon class is now unique, offering options for both casual players and those seeking a challenging, skill-based experience. The game also features a new power progression system – unlike previous versions, you won’t need to grind levels to become more powerful.

You’ll progress by unlocking new character classes, finishing skill challenges, collecting unique items, and leveling up. This ensures you can always play with your friends, easily try out new content, and never feel like you’ve fallen behind.

The game’s advancement system now focuses on daily tasks, challenging rifts, rewards based on your player level, and specialized mastery tracks, all while consistently providing class tokens. The developers also plan to introduce a new playable class every two weeks, ensuring a continuous stream of new content without requiring periodic resets.

Many players were concerned about the future of the game after Supercell announced that Squad Busters would close next year. This led to worries that mo.co might also be discontinued. However, Supercell clarified that the game’s low earnings were intentional and didn’t mean it was being cancelled.

We don’t have a confirmed release date for the next major neo mo.co update yet, but it’s expected sometime in 2026. For now, we’ll need to be patient!
