Team Liquid defeated Shopify Rebellion Gold in the final match of the 2025 VALORANT Game Changers Championship, preventing them from winning the championship three times in a row.
Shopify Rebellion Gold was on the verge of winning the VALORANT Game Changers Championship for the third year in a row, but Team Liquid surprised them in the final match. This victory marked Brazil’s first international win in the Game Changers competition.
Natália “daiki” Vilela was named MVP of the Finals. The championship series was a thrilling back-and-forth battle with incredible comebacks, closely contested matches, and impressive winning streaks. Ultimately, Team Liquid defeated Shopify Rebellion Gold, marking their second victory over them in the tournament.
Team Liquid daiki: FalleN wished me good luck
Daiki shared that Counter-Strike 2 pro Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and his wife sent her encouraging messages before the tournament. She said they wished her luck when she traveled to Korea to compete.
Team Liquid’s Brazilian team has played together since 2023, with Julia “Jelly” Iris being the newest member, joining this year. Letícia “Joojina” Paiva shared, “We’ve been so close to winning so many times, and to finally achieve it as a team… I can’t even put it into words.”
Jelly explained that she’s been working much harder and seeing better results in 2025 compared to last year. She credits her new team with helping her adjust to her position and integrate well with everyone.
Joining Team Liquid felt like joining a family, and I think that strong sense of unity was key to our success. They really helped me develop, both as a player and as a person, which meant a lot to me.
Daiki, representing Brazil internationally, expressed immense pride in his country’s talent. He noted Brazil’s incredible potential, highlighting that when two Brazilian teams competed at GCC 2025, both finished in the top three. He shared his joy and support for the female players.
SRG meL to Team Liquid: F*****g make Challengers.
MeL praised Daiki’s outstanding performance throughout the series, saying she was a clear MVP contender. He encouraged her to carry this success forward, telling her to aim for Challengers. He believes the team has reached a new level and is capable of breaking through to the next stage, and he’s excited to see what they can achieve.
Even though they didn’t win three championships in a row, the team is proud of their performance this year. Nicole “Noia” Tierce shared that qualifying for the Challengers tournament was a highlight, saying it was “probably the happiest day of my year.”
SRG vs TL in GCC 2025 grand final
The first map was very competitive, with both teams playing evenly. Team Liquid had a small advantage at halftime, leading 7-5, but the match stayed neck and neck throughout. Shopify Rebellion Gold ultimately won the first map 13-11 after securing three rounds in a row.
Each player performed exceptionally well, and they all finished with the same kill/death/assist ratio.
The match continued on Pearl, and once again showed how evenly matched the two teams were. Despite SRG choosing the map, the game remained incredibly close. This round was even tighter than the first, ending with a 6-6 tie at halftime.
During the second half of the match, TL reached map point first, but SRG quickly followed, bringing the score to 12-11. Just like Karnthida Chaisrakeo’s game-winning play on the first map, Letícia Paiva delivered a four-kill performance that secured the second map and tied the series.
Honestly, as a viewer, I think our coach, effys, nailed it when he said Pearl was where we started to fall apart. It really felt like we needed to win that map, and we just couldn’t close it out. That’s where things started to go downhill, in my opinion.
After a slow start, SRG finally took a significant lead in the third map, finishing the first half with a strong 9-3 advantage and appearing poised to win the match. But Team Liquid responded with incredible teamwork and individual plays, completely shifting the momentum. They dominated the second half, only allowing SRG to win a single round. This allowed Team Liquid to secure a 13-11 victory and put themselves on the verge of winning the series.
SRG started strong on the fourth map, Sunset, but Shopify Rebellion quickly matched their energy, with both teams winning several rounds in a row. Ultimately, Shopify Rebellion won Sunset 13-6, forcing a final deciding map.
The competition reached its peak in Split, with both teams playing evenly. Neither side managed a significant lead or a long winning streak – it was simply a well-played match by both. Ultimately, Team Liquid emerged victorious.
