Danny Cipriani’s ex-wife Victoria claims he ended their marriage ‘with no explanation’ as she recalls the ‘hurtful’ moment he announced their split

As a longtime follower of Danny and Victoria Cipriani, I was really saddened to hear Victoria share that Danny ended their marriage after just two years, and apparently, he didn’t even offer her an explanation. It’s just heartbreaking to hear she was left with no closure.

Victoria, 43, recently shared that she was surprised and hurt when her husband, a 38-year-old rugby player, announced their separation on Instagram.

Victoria filed for divorce last August, nine months after she and Danny separated. She later stated that Danny spent around £600 each month on drugs.

The neuroscience professional explained that she’s still trying to understand why her marriage failed.

She still doesn’t understand why Danny left. He didn’t argue with anyone and hadn’t shown any signs of unhappiness. She’s even kept some of his belongings, like his toothbrush and clothes, though he only took a couple of pairs of jogging pants, she told The Sun.

‘We were sat on the sofa watching telly and he stood up and said, “If I go now can I come back?”. 

Danny was struggling with drug use and mental health problems, and I mostly just agreed with whatever he said to try and avoid conflict. After I said “OK,” he left.

Danny has openly discussed his past drug use, including cocaine and psychedelic substances. He once took so many magic mushrooms that he became paranoid and believed someone was trying to harm him.

Days after Danny walked out of their home, he announced their split on Instagram.

It left Victoria shocked as it was the ‘first I’d heard of it’. ‘It was so hurtful,’ she added.

Daily Mail has contacted Danny’s representatives for comment.  

Victoria shared on Instagram after the breakup that Danny announced their split publicly without talking to her about it first. She found out about it when everyone else did, and she said it was very hurtful.

‘I apologise if my reactions and responses have seemed reactive or emotionally charged.

I’m still struggling with everything that’s happened, and it’s hard for me to see Danny discussing our split publicly when I haven’t had time to process my feelings and begin to heal.

Honestly, it breaks my heart, but Victoria just said she really doesn’t want any of this drama, all the attention is too much for her. She’s so sorry if she’s upset anyone, and I totally get it! It’s just… she needs space, and I’ll defend her right to have that, always.

Danny met estranged wife Victoria in 2019 and they were engaged by January 2021.

Danny and his partner got married in a private ceremony on April 27, 2022. He shared the happy news with his Instagram followers, writing, ‘Married my best friend today!’

Danny reflected on their split in an interview last year. 

The athlete refuted accusations made by his wife, Victoria, that he had cheated on her. She had publicly stated he sent messages to other women during their marriage.

Danny claims Victoria started manipulating him right away and constantly made up unbelievable stories about her life, like saying she’d been approached by MI5 and was very wealthy.

Looking back, he admits she completely fooled him, but he really wanted to trust her.

I feel completely disconnected from her, like I never really knew her at all. I’m lost because I can’t figure out what’s real.

Daily Mail contacted Victoria’s representatives for comment at the time.  

Danny is now dating American actress AnnaLynne McCord. She recently called him her ‘husband’ while at the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame event in New York City.

Asked about her marriage by reporters, AnnaLynne McCord avoided answering, simply stating she wouldn’t comment. She wasn’t wearing a wedding ring at the time.

After AnnaLynne declined to comment on whether she was married, a representative for her show, Days of Our Lives, confirmed to the Daily Mail that she and Danny are not married.

The actress, known for her role in the popular show The O.C., revealed that her husband, a former rugby player, sometimes gets jealous when he watches her kissing other actors in her shows.

She described him as both protective and attractive, adding that many women are drawn to those qualities.
