With Christmas approaching, Macaulay Culkin revealed what a new Home Alone movie might look like with him in it. The actor, famous for playing Kevin McCallister in the original Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), said he’d be open to returning to the role.

“It would have to be just right,” Culkin said while on tour (via Variety). “I kind of had this idea.

I’m either widowed or divorced, and I’m a single parent trying to raise my child. I’m working so much that I’m not giving my kid the attention they need, and it’s causing some friction. Now, my son is even preventing me from coming inside – he’s actually setting traps to keep me out.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Song shared a story about making Macaulay Culkin watch Home Alone with her. She explained that when they first started dating, almost eight years ago, she insisted it was a Christmas tradition and that they watch the movie every year.

He hadn’t watched that movie for about ten years, and I really made him sit down and watch it with me, even though he wasn’t interested. I insisted we had to. As soon as we started, he began sharing all sorts of behind-the-scenes details, and I kept telling him to stop because he was spoiling the movie for me!

“It’s just, it’s hard for me now, that’s all,” Song said of watching the original movie.
