Resident Evil Survival Unit is a strategy game with horror elements, created by Aniplex Inc. and JOYCITY Corp. It recently launched after a limited release in some areas this September. Success in the game depends on building a strong team, which requires understanding each character and their unique skills. While many characters fill the same role, their power levels vary. That’s why I’ve created this Resident Evil Survival Unit Hero Tier List to help you choose the best ones.

Before looking at our hero rankings, let’s cover some basics. There are currently 17 different heroes in the game, categorized into three types. Here’s a quick look at those types.

Attacker: They’re your key to dominating the battles, whether it is against other players from the worldwide server or against the zombies running after your den. The game has six attackers.
Defender: What will you do when a horde of enemies/zombies comes to take you down? Yes, you place the defenders in front. They’ll be your shield to defend your establishments.
Ranger: Lead the ranger squad into battle. Increases the stats of ranger troops in the deployed squad.

Heroes come in three rarity levels. Attackers, legendary heroes, and epic heroes all have these different levels. Legendary heroes are the most difficult to obtain, while rarer heroes are easier to find.

As a player, I’ve learned that heroes don’t just fill one of the main roles – they have extra abilities too! If a hero has the ‘Joining Rally’ tag and is leading a rally, it boosts the stats of everyone participating. Then there are ‘Gather’ heroes – they seriously speed up how quickly you can collect resources. And finally, ‘Development’ heroes are amazing for improving your Mansion and building up your army with helpful skills. It’s great to have so many ways to customize and strengthen my kingdom!

Defense heroes are a unique type that boost your team’s stats when placed in a Mansion or Outpost. Legendary versions have an additional benefit: they act as Combat Specialists, further enhancing the stats of all your deployed squads.

Heroes can have multiple specialties, but not every powerful hero excels in three areas. Understanding these roles helps you decide which heroes are worth developing for the long run and which are best used temporarily until you find even stronger ones. Best Heroes in Resident Evil Survival Unit

Like I mentioned before, don’t waste resources on weaker characters. If you don’t get the really strong or legendary heroes, it’s better to focus on well-rounded ones. Now, let’s go over the top heroes for each position.

1. Best Attacker: Ada Wong

Ada Wong is a highly skilled hero known for her versatility. She excels in three roles: attacking, supporting, and defending. While operating in Raccoon City, she posed as an FBI agent. Ada’s abilities include deploying decoys, using EMF scans and accelerators, strategic planning, gathering and using information effectively, and taking advantage of the environment.

She’s a highly skilled fighter in the game, boasting a total combat power of 16,800. This is broken down into 5,000 from her level and 10,000 from her grade. Additionally, players can unlock even more combat power through gear upgrades.

2. Best Defender: Leon S. Kennedy

Leon S. Kennedy is the strongest character in the game, likely due to his role as a defender. He’s skilled in both Join Rally and Combat Specialist tactics. His abilities include using a Rocket Launcher, performing a Spin Kick and Piercing/Targeted Shots, boosting his Calm Mind, and mastering Martial Arts.

As a big fan, I’m really excited about upgrading my heroes – it seriously boosts the whole squad’s power! Let me tell you about Leon – he’s a beast with 21,550 total hero combat power. Breaking that down, his Level Combat power is 6,250, and he gets double the Grade Combat bonus. Most heroes start around 1,800 skill combat power, and Leon’s right there too. Plus, you unlock a whole new gear section just by getting him, which is awesome!

3. Best Ranger: Jill Valentine

Jill Valentine is an excellent squad leader, known for her abilities in rallying the team and as a combat specialist. She’s skilled with weapons like the Railgun and Grenade Launcher, and is also trained in Delta Force tactics, grenade bursts, demolitions, and surprise attacks. Her powerful Railgun shots can significantly speed up progress and save you effort!

She excels at managing large groups of enemies. Her fighting ability is comparable to Ada Wong’s, with similar overall and specific combat stats. Ultimately, her unique role makes her a dangerous opponent and earned her a place on this list.

As you can see, the most popular heroes generally rank highly due to their versatile skills and powerful abilities. Since collecting all of them takes time, focus on improving the skills of strong, secondary options in the meantime.
