Astralis is facing immense pressure at the CS2 Budapest Major. After losing their first two matches, they need to win their next three games to stay in the competition, or they’ll be eliminated.
Astralis’s dominant period is now in the past, and it’s fantastic to see Magisk and dev1ce playing together again at a Major tournament. Their time in Budapest at the StarLadder Major 2025 might be brief, so be sure to catch their remaining Stage 2 matches. They still have a chance to make a comeback and advance to Stage 3, don’t they?
Astralis, featuring players dev1ce and Magisk, won the StarLadder Berlin Major in 2019, marking their fourth championship title. Later, dev1ce played with NiP at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where they finished in the top eight. Most recently, Magisk competed with Team Falcons at BLAST.tv Major Austin 2025, but the team didn’t advance past the second stage.
Both Magisk and dev1ce are still performing at a high level. Magisk consistently creates opportunities with inventive plays, leading to crucial kills, while dev1ce is a threat with his accurate and unpredictable AWP shots all over the map.
Astralis hasn’t had the best start at the Budapest Major. After losing to NiP and M80, they’re now in a precarious position and could be eliminated if they lose another match.

dev1ce and Magisk will kick off their run in the Budapest Major Stage 2 with a match against FlyQuest. It’s expected to be a close and uncertain competition.
Stage 1 powerhouses, who fell apart quite badly
FlyQuest had a fantastic start to Stage 1, winning all three of their matches. They convincingly defeated Fluxo in the qualifying match, securing their spot in the next stage.
Okay, Stage 2 started with a rough match, honestly. FlyQuest got completely handled by NAVI, losing 2-13. It was especially tough on Nuke – we didn’t win a single round in the first half! It was a real wake-up call for the team, that’s for sure.
They lost to TYLOO with a final score of 7-13. Although the final result doesn’t seem terrible, they were significantly behind after the first half, trailing 1-11. They tried to come back, but ultimately couldn’t close the gap.
FlyQuest is facing a critical moment. They’re either poised to advance and compete against Astralis, or they risk being eliminated from the competition.
Hey, if you’ve been wondering what happened to the old Astralis lineup, here’s a quick update on where everyone ended up as of late 2025.
- Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth is an Assistant Coach in MOUZ.
- Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen announced his retirement during the Austin Major. He is an analyst at BLAST events.
- Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander revealed his move to the position of a head coach during the Budapest Major. It’s unclear if he already has the job.
- The coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen, has the same role in Team Falcons.
Astralis could continue playing through Stage 2 and potentially move on, or their run could end now.
