Say Nothing
This Northern Ireland-based drama features a strong cast including Lola Petticrew, Maxine Peake, and Anthony Boyle, and unfolds over forty years. Channel 4 calls the nine-episode series a captivating story set against the backdrop of The Troubles.
This series, adapted from Patrick Radden Keefe’s book, follows the lives of people involved with the Irish Republican Army (IRA). It examines a society torn apart by conflict and the hidden emotional and mental toll of keeping secrets.
Say Nothing is available to watch from Monday 1 December on Channel 4 at 9pm.

The Abandons
Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey team up for Netflix’s tense new Western period drama.
The story takes place in Washington in 1854 and centers around Heady and Anderson, who play the heads of two very different families. One family is wealthy and established, while the other is a close-knit group of orphans and those who don’t fit into traditional society.
The two at-odds families soon find themselves linked by “two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath,” (via the synopsis).
The Abandons is available to watch from Thursday 4 December on Netflix.

Anne Rice’s Talamasca The Secret Order
From the same world as Interview with a Vampire, comes supernatural horror series Talamasca.
This series, set in New York City, centers on Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton), a bright new law school graduate. He’s approached by a mysterious woman who recruits him into the Talamasca, a secret organization that monitors supernatural activity.
It doesn’t take long to realize what Guy is really up to. He’s been sent to secretly investigate the Talamasca’s headquarters in London, with the goal of stopping a dangerous threat to humanity.
The series also stars Downton Abbey‘s Elizabeth McGovern.
Anne Rice’s Talamasca The Secret Order is available to watch from Monday 1 December on Netflix.

The War Between the Land and the Sea
A new series connected to Doctor Who, created by Russell T Davies, begins this week on BBC One. Russell Tovey stars as Barclay, a regular employee at UNIT who finds himself facing a threat from an ancient species emerging from the ocean.
Conflict is on the horizon, as the original inhabitants of the land return to reclaim their home from the humans who now live there. Whether this will lead to a peaceful resolution or a violent clash is still unknown. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is also featured in this five-part series.
You can watch “The War Between the Land and the Sea” starting Sunday, December 7th, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Ripple
The New York City-based drama Ripple follows the lives of Kris (Julia Chan), Nate (Ian Harding), Aria (Sydney Agudong), and Walter (Frankie Faison). These four characters have unknowingly crossed paths many times, their connections prevented by small choices made at the very beginning of the story.
However, it quickly becomes clear that these people, despite being strangers and facing difficulties, are connected in surprising ways. Ultimately, their experiences transform them all.
Ripple is available to watch from Wednesday 3 December on Netflix.

This time, though, their reunion isn’t happy – it’s complicated. Kyeong-do, working as a journalist, has to report on a major scandal that involves Ji-woo’s husband.
