Shaun Evans, known for his role in Endeavour, is joining the BBC crime drama This City Is Ours as a new villain. The show, which is filmed in Liverpool, is currently preparing for its second season.
I’m really excited for the new episodes! Apparently, Mark Evans is joining the cast as Ozzie Thompson, a former gangster who’s just been released from prison. He used to work with Ronnie (Sean Bean’s character) and now he’s demanding money from the Phelans as some kind of payback. It sounds like things are about to get really interesting!
James Nelson-Joyce, who stars alongside his new co-star Michael Kavanagh, described Evans’s performance as “amazing” and hinted that Evans will play a somewhat villainous role in the show, according to an interview with Radio Times.
What to Read Next
The first season of This City Is Ours centers around a battle for control within a criminal organization in Liverpool, pitting the son of the boss, Ronnie, against his most trusted lieutenant.
Season 2 begins immediately after the previous finale, with Michael and Diana (Hannah Onslow) being called back in to explain what happened surrounding Ricardo’s death.

The remaining members of the Liverpool gang are still at odds with each other, and a new player, Ozzie, is demanding money from them.
Before the first season even finished airing, the show was picked up for a second season. Creator Stephen Butchard shared that everyone involved was thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive reaction to This City Is Ours, and he expressed his gratitude to viewers for watching and connecting with the story.

I’m incredibly grateful to Lindsay Salt and the amazing team at BBC Drama for their unwavering support and faith in our show, its story, and the characters. And thank you for giving us the chance to continue! We look forward to seeing you all soon.
BBC Drama director Salt expressed her excitement about continuing the successful series, stating that the first season was just the beginning and even greater things are to come.
You can currently watch season 1 of This City Is Ours on BBC iPlayer. A release date for season 2 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer hasn’t been announced yet.
