As the 2025 TV season ends, even WWE is getting ready for its last major event of the year, Survivor Series. This event is the final big show before preparations begin for WrestleMania next year. WWE is hoping to really impress fans with Survivor Series, as the past couple of years haven’t been as exciting as they’d like. Could a returning star boost excitement? Rumors suggest Chris Jericho might be coming back to WWE, and many are wondering if it will happen at Survivor Series.
We didn’t initially predict Chris Jericho’s return for Survivor Series, but we’ve been following rumors about it. The latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Dave Meltzer and f4wonline, has an update on when fans might see “Y2J” back in action.
As has been widely reported, everything points to Chris Jericho heading to WWE. They’ve reportedly offered him a storyline focused on his retirement, and sources within WWE have indicated that’s their preferred direction. While some anticipate his arrival early next year, nothing is official at this time.
The rumor that Chris Jericho might return to WWE is going around again. Many fans are predicting he’ll appear either at the beginning of the new year, or possibly even tonight at the Survivor Series event. This speculation is fueled by the fact that CM Punk previously made a surprise return at Survivor Series, so a similar unexpected appearance isn’t out of the question.

John Cena Reacts After WWE Had A Little Person Impersonate Him
CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series felt particularly meaningful because it took place in his hometown of Chicago. This year’s event is in San Diego, however, which is quite a distance from Winnipeg, Canada – the city Chris Jericho feels most connected to.
Despite that, I’d still enjoy seeing Chris Jericho make an appearance at Survivor Series, though it’s unclear what his motivation would be. One possibility is that he could be John Cena’s final opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Even though there’s a tournament already underway to determine who faces Cena, Jericho could disrupt things by interfering in one of the matches and inserting himself into the competition.
Early in John Cena’s time on the main WWE roster, he had a rivalry with Chris Jericho. While it wasn’t as famous as his feuds with Edge, The Rock, or Brock Lesnar, it was still a match between two wrestling icons. I’d be happy to see Jericho have his last match against Cena, but for that to happen, he’d likely need to appear at Survivor Series.
You can catch WWE’s Survivor Series on ESPN Unlimited this Saturday, November 29th, starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time. I’m looking forward to a good night of wrestling, and I’m curious to see if Chris Jericho or any other surprise competitors make an appearance.
