Mariah Carey wears $42k diamond butterfly ring over her gloves while making Thanksgiving dinner

Okay, so I was totally floored when I saw Mariah Carey making Thanksgiving dinner! And not just that – she was wearing a forty-two thousand dollar diamond butterfly ring… over latex gloves! It was such a Mariah moment – glamorous even while cooking, but also…unexpected. It definitely made my social media feed brighter!

The 56-year-old singer posted a video on Instagram Thursday showing her making her yearly tradition of ‘anointed greens’ with a chef in her kitchen.

In her caption, she wished her fans a ‘Happy Thanksgiving!’ alongside pink heart emojis.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose teenage daughter Monroe Cannon recently spoke about her father Nick Cannon’s nine younger children, was seen cooking a lot of vegetables while wearing a white Dior sweater and black leggings.

She began the video with a cheerful smile, speaking directly to her 14.8 million Instagram followers.

‘We’re making some greens, and I’m very excited about it because it’s Thanksgiving.’

She was photographed gently tending to the golf course greens while also displaying her stunning, custom-made Van Cleef & Arpels butterfly ring, a lavish gift from the brand worth a considerable amount of money.

And the crooner was singing while adding chicken stock and spices to the steaming batch of greens.

At one point, she added: ‘Yes, I’m wearing gloves because that’s what I like.’

She said she was adding a lot of parsley, along with garlic that had been lightly browned and some red pepper flakes, to flavor her food.

People noticed and jokingly commented on her wearing a ring over her cooking gloves.

Mariah Carey has been wearing her butterfly ring for about twenty years and is rarely seen without it, leading fans to praise her as a style icon.

In 2020, she was a guest on Naomi Campbell’s podcast, No Filter with Naomi, where she discussed her jewelry collection featuring butterflies.

She said she’s worn the Van Cleef & Arpels ring, a gift from the brand years ago, every day since she received it.

She continued to wear the ring even while pregnant with her twins, Monroe and Moroccan Cannon, who are now 14.

She began using butterflies as a signature part of her image in the 1990s, starting with her 1997 album, Butterfly.

Her fans quickly spotted the ring – it’s become a recognizable symbol for her, with many noticing it even during everyday activities like cooking on Thanksgiving.

Comparable pieces featuring white gold and more than 3 carats of diamonds typically cost about $41,700 at this high-end store.
