Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins reveals the life-changing lesson Kerry Katona taught her as she moves on from reality TV with new film role

Olivia Hawkins shared the important advice Kerry Katona gave her as she transitions from reality television to acting in a new movie.

The pair, who met earlier this year on Celebs Go Dating, quickly formed a close friendship.

Olivia, age 30, first became well-known on the 2023 season of Love Island and then reappeared on the All Stars version of the show in January.

She’s getting ready to act again, starring in the British independent film, Tales From The Trap.

Filming is currently happening, and Olivia recently revealed a valuable lesson she learned from Kerry, who is 45 years old, that has stuck with her.

She told the Daily Mail that Kerry is a source of comfort and that they share a great sense of humor and connection.

We recently attended the Beauty Awards to give out an award, and it was great seeing her – she’s always a lot of fun!

‘She taught me not to be a people pleaser, to stand my ground and be unapologetically myself.

‘I may not have found love on Celebs Go Dating, but I found a really great friendship.’

I’m so excited for Olivia! She’s really diving into her latest film project, and the cast is incredible. She’ll be working with some amazing people like Danniella Westbrook, Terry Stone – who’s both a producer and actor – Vas Blackwood, Frazer Clarke, Judith Shekoni, and a really exciting new talent, the Grime MC Amzzino. I can’t wait to see it!

She didn’t reveal much about her role, but described her character as someone who uses charm to gather information. She also mentioned that Danniella Westbrook is playing a character who is a tough, older woman, like a gangster grandmother.

This intense drama dives into the world of gangs and drill music in south London, showing the harsh realities of life in the city. The director describes it as his most daring work yet, even compared to his famous crime movies.

Olivia has said she doesn’t plan to return to Love Island, having participated in both the original series and All Stars, as she’s now focusing on life beyond reality television.

She stated she wouldn’t repeat the experience, feeling she had finished with it and moved on to a new chapter in her life.

Olivia shared that she’s excited for fans to watch her new show, ‘Tales From The Trap,’ because it will reveal a side of her they haven’t seen before.

‘I know I touched base on it, but I’ve not done anything like this since before Love Island.’

Right now, I’m really concentrating on acting. I’m not ruling out reality TV completely, but it’s not a priority for me at the moment.

Even though she’s moved away from reality TV, Olivia confessed she still hopes to compete on Strictly Come Dancing.

I’d be thrilled to be on Strictly Come Dancing – it’s always been a dream of mine. Although I have experience as an actress and dancer, I know the show will be a completely unique challenge.

‘Like, I wouldn’t know what to do with ballroom.

I worked with Lewis Cope in a play a long time ago, and it just struck me how strange it would have been if we’d both been on Strictly Come Dancing at the same time.

As 2025 draws to a close, Olivia revealed her biggest achievements of the year.

Okay, so things are finally happening! I’m actually a homeowner – I’m getting the keys any day now, which is insane! And I’m pushing through the last bit of 75 Hard – I’m finishing it up on Friday, November 28th, which is a huge weight off my shoulders. But the best part? I’m finally able to film ‘Tales Of The Trap’! I’ve been planning this forever, and it’s all coming together. I can’t even explain how excited I am!
