Mandy Moore reveals why she has had such a ‘wild and difficult year’ after fans have commented on her changing appearance

Despite losing her home in the January wildfires in Altadena, California, Mandy Moore says she remains incredibly grateful for all the good things in her life.

Oh my gosh, Mandy Moore just posted the cutest Thanksgiving photos! You guys, she has three kids – little Gus who’s four, Ozzie who’s three, and baby Louise who’s only fourteen months old! – and they are all so precious with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith. I seriously can’t handle the cuteness! She shared a bunch of pictures and it totally made my day.

Despite a challenging year filled with change and public attention to her appearance, Moore expressed immense gratitude.

The actress wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and shared a sweet message about her family, saying she was especially thankful for her four loved ones.

Mandy Moore, 41, recently praised her mother-in-law, Kathy Goldsmith, calling her a source of hope during the devastating wildfires. These fires impacted over 16,000 buildings – including homes and businesses – and caused thousands to flee their homes.

This past year has been challenging, but my mother-in-law, Kathy, has consistently stepped up and met every challenge, as I shared on July 13th, which also happened to be her birthday.

The actress frequently uses social media to acknowledge and celebrate her husband’s parents, who are also the lead singer of the folk-rock band Dawes, on their special occasions.

To be honest, I don’t know how we would have gotten through the past months without her support after the fire. Despite experiencing her own devastating loss, she’s been there for us from day one, consistently and without hesitation, as Moore explained.

I’m really sad we won’t be able to walk to her house anymore, but I’m so thankful we’ve had these past six months together. If there’s anything positive to take from this situation, it’s the time we’ve shared.

Moore spoke highly of Kathy, saying she was fantastic with their three children and Goldsmith’s. He added that they felt very fortunate to have her as part of their family.

She described their daily routine, from enjoying coffee while letting the dogs outside in the morning, to sharing tea and conversations – about everything from their grief to funny moments – after the children were in bed.

As a parent, you quickly learn that life is a beautiful whirlwind of moments – from bath time and mealtimes to playtime and everything in between! Honestly, it’s the little things that get me, like when my son, Gus, suddenly announced he needed to go to the bathroom with our dog, Gaga! Those hilarious, unexpected times are what make her so special, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her in our lives. We’re definitely a forever family!

‘Seriously, she thinks she can move into her new place but that’s not happening. Ha!

I understand you might not want a big fuss about your birthday, but those of us who care about you deeply are thrilled to celebrate you today and every day.

Moore recently admitted she is ‘looking forward to rebuilding’ her family home following the fires.

Mandy Moore began her career as a singer, but she’s widely recognized for her acting role in the popular television show, This is Us.

After six seasons, the show concluded in May 2022, and its creator, Moore, described the experience of ending it as challenging in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Moore believes that job was uniquely impactful and nothing else will likely have the same significance globally.

I truly enjoy my work, and I’m incredibly grateful to have spent the last six years doing what I consider the best job imaginable.

She explained that all creative people worry about losing their momentum and often feel like each project might be their last. She’s been considering her next steps, but finds the prospect a bit overwhelming.
