A voice actor for Netflix and a film actor tragically died after falling from the roof of his house while inspecting some home renovations.
Tony Germano had moved back into his parents’ old house less than a month ago.
On Wednesday morning, a 55-year-old man was checking on how some work was going when he slipped and fell off the roof.
His death was confirmed shortly after.
Tony lived alone and had no children.
The day before the accident in São Paulo, Brazil, he’d been with his sister and, even though he was busy with home renovations, he appeared happy and enthusiastic about what the future held.
His artistic career spanned 30 years.
He was most famous for his stage performances, including roles in popular musicals like The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Jekyll & Hyde, and Fiddler on the Roof, among others.
He’s also a talented voice actor, having worked on popular shows like Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (Nickelodeon), Go, Dog, Go! (Netflix), and the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie from Disney, among other projects.
He lent his voice to popular animated shows like Elena of Avalor, The Muppets, and Sheriff Callie’s Wild West.
On screen, he appeared in films such as Phantom Summer and Necropolis Symphony.
Tony was laid to rest in Vargem Grande Paulista yesterday.
Bruno, a friend of the actor, shared his sadness, saying he couldn’t believe the news. He described seeing the actor perform in ‘Garden of the Sleepwalkers’ and later becoming friends with him.
It’s so hard to accept that you’re no longer with us. I’ll always remember your incredible talent and how kind you were. You’ll be deeply missed. Rest peacefully, my friend.
I’m absolutely heartbroken by the loss of Tony. He was genuinely one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He always made time for everyone and just radiated positivity. It’s going to be so difficult to picture being on set or in the studio without his energy and kindness.
