Brawl Stars Brawl Pass update brings major changes, Keys, Vault, Price adjustments, and more

Story Highlights

  • The Brawl Pass now offers 10 extra tiers, new items, and better value, though its price has risen to $8.99 for the normal pass and $12.99 for Brawl Pass Plus.
  • Keys are new items that open the Brawl Pass Vault, letting you grab Resources, Skins, Brawlers, and Buffies via 4 different types of Keys.
  • The team’s goal is to make it more valuable, offer more progression freedom, improve monetization, and more.

Brawl Stars is updating the Brawl Pass again, following recent improvements to free-to-play rewards in July. This update affects both the free and paid tracks, adds new Keys and a Vault, adjusts the prices of the Brawl Pass and Brawl Pass Plus, and includes other changes. Let’s take a closer look!

Brawl Stars Brawl Pass December 2025 Changes

Brawl Stars has updated its reward system for free-to-play players, adding even more benefits. The new system includes ten extra tiers of rewards, new items to unlock, and generally better value. However, the cost to upgrade has also increased – the standard pass now costs $8.99, while Pass Plus is $12.99.

You have until January to purchase items at the current price and even save some for later, as prices will be updated then. I’m especially pleased that Titles and Chroma Skins are now part of the regular pass, and that each new Season will feature 2 Brawl Pass Skins and Chromas.

Free Tracks, Brawl Pass, and Brawl Pass Plus Changes

The game is increasing rewards in Free Tracks! Players will now get an extra 1000 coins and a resource key – which can be traded for 2000 powerpoints, just like a Buffie. They’ve also added Chaos Drops, Extra Bling, and Credits as rewards.

With the new Brawl Pass, you can unlock Titles, Skins, and their color variations as usual. Plus, you now have more control over how you improve your account with new resources, Skin Keys, and Brawler Keys.

Finally, the Brawl Pass Plus will receive more Keys starting in January, giving you enough to unlock both Brawl Pass skins and all their Chromas. As a bonus, this update will also add 50 more Gems to your Brawl Pass Plus.

Brawl Stars New Brawl Pass Item: Keys

This update introduces Keys, which allow you to unlock rewards in a new Brawl Pass Vault – a feature similar to those found in Call of Duty: Mobile. These Keys will let you access different types of rewards, including Resources, Skins, Brawlers, and Buffies. There are four different Keys, each used to open a specific category of rewards.

Each offer in the vault costs 1 Key, except for the Vintage Skin Sets, which cost 2 Keys. I expect many people will try to get those! I think this Key system is great because it lets us choose how we progress – whether we want Buffies or Skins – and we can even save Keys for skins from past Battle Passes.

Just so you know, the new Brawl Pass skins will only cost 1 Key, which is less than the 2 Keys they cost in the last season. Also, skins from the January 2024 Starrforce season (and other regular skins) will be available in the Skin Vault. When you use Keys to get a skin, you’ll also receive both of its Chromas.

Brawl Stars Brawl Pass End Rewards or Tail Reward

Tail Rewards now cost 2800 XP, and each one will give you a different item – it could be a Demon Drop, a Sushi Drop, or even a Chaos Drop. The best part is, you’re guaranteed to get better items from Tail Rewards than you would from a random Starr Drop.

You can use Gems to improve the reward you get at the end of each season, but remember to claim it before the season is over—otherwise, you’ll receive the regular reward instead. This is a major update, and you can find a complete list of changes in our December 2025 update article.
