Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were ‘present’ when Ryan Reynolds ripped into tearful Justin Baldoni for ‘fat-shaming’ wife Blake Lively

Sources say Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman witnessed a conversation where Ryan Reynolds addressed Justin Baldoni after Baldoni seemingly made a comment about Blake Lively’s weight, causing her to become upset.

A recently revealed email from Taylor Swift’s security team, shared with DailyMail.com, alleges that Swift and Hugh Jackman were at Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s New York City apartment when Reynolds angrily confronted director Jake Baldoni.

A recently filed document in the Lively and Baldoni legal case features a timeline of events. This timeline was originally emailed by Jamey Heath, a co-founder of Wayfarer Studios, to Baldoni’s publicist in July 2024.

According to the document, on or around April 25, 2023, Baldoni visited Reynolds’ penthouse, where Reynolds accused him of making an inappropriate comment about Blake Lively’s weight. Reynolds claimed Baldoni asking about her weight was a form of ‘fat shaming’.

According to the document, Baldoni was deeply upset, apologized, and became emotional.

The issue arose when Justin Baldoni, who acted with and directed Colleen Hoover, asked Lively’s trainer about her weight. He did this before a scene in ‘It Ends With Us’ where he had to lift her, and later explained he was worried about potentially injuring his back.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for actors Baldoni, Reynolds, and Jackman, as well as singer Taylor Swift, but has not yet received a response.

The email says that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were also in the apartment when the meeting took place.

In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and others, accusing them of sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni denies these accusations, and the case is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.

Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were both previously considered as potential witnesses for Blake Lively’s legal case. This came after reports of a falling out between Swift and Lively, allegedly due to Swift’s involvement in the legal issues.

Hugh Jackman publicly supported Blake Lively by attending the premiere of her new film, It Ends With Us, in New York City on August 9, 2024, where he posed for photos with her and Ryan Reynolds. He also joined Lively on the cover of the September 2024 issue of Vogue magazine.

Taylor Swift’s name has come up in the current lawsuit. Previously, Baldoni stated that Swift and Ryan Reynolds allegedly pushed him to use one of Blake Lively’s revised script versions for the movie.

Baldoni’s lawyers attempted to subpoena her in May.

Her representative strongly denied any connection between Taylor Swift and the film, explaining that she had no part in its creation or production. They stated she never visited the set, wasn’t involved in casting or creative choices, didn’t work on the music, and didn’t even see the finished movie until after it was released to the public. Furthermore, they noted she was busy on a global tour throughout 2023 and 2024.

Taylor Swift’s personal connection to the film allowed them to include her song, ‘My Tears Ricochet,’ according to her representative.

He explained that people were using Taylor Swift’s name to get attention from the media and generate sensational headlines, rather than concentrating on the actual details of the situation.

According to TMZ, Blake Lively invited Taylor Swift to her penthouse after a meeting with Lively, Reynolds, and Baldoni about a revised scene, but didn’t say why she wanted Swift to come over.

Someone familiar with Taylor Swift’s thoughts shared that she thinks Blake Lively intentionally arranged a meeting to coincidentally encounter Justin Baldoni.

According to a source, Justin was just leaving after a two-hour meeting when Taylor arrived, and they were introduced to each other for the first and only time.

Swift shared her excitement about the film to Baldoni ‘because he was her friend’s boss.’

Blake Lively alleged in her lawsuit against Jason Baldoni that he questioned her personal trainer about her weight following the birth of her fourth child, which she felt was a form of subtle body shaming.

While filming It Ends With Us, Blake Lively connected Justin Baldoni with her trainer, Don Saladino, to get him in shape for his part.

Okay, so I’ve been following this so closely, and Baldoni and his legal team actually put everything online – seriously, everything! They dropped a huge timeline, covering January 2019 to just this January, on this website, thelawsuitinfo.com. It’s 168 pages of emails, texts, even WhatsApp messages…it’s insane! I’ve been pouring over it, trying to understand everything. It’s all there for anyone to see, which is just…wow.

According to his website, Baldoni said he got guidance on ‘diet and fitness’ and ‘adjusting things to help’ with his back injury, which includes several bulging discs and ongoing pain.

In addition to subscribing to Don’s meal delivery service, Baldoni also sought Don’s help with a workout plan to strengthen his back. He needed to be able to lift Blake for a scene in a movie.

He admitted to privately asking about Blake’s weight, explaining that he considered it a legitimate and well-intentioned question for a trainer to ask.

In a revised version of her lawsuit, Lively stated she was deeply embarrassed to discover that Mr. Baldoni contacted her fitness trainer behind her back and suggested she needed to lose weight in just two weeks.

In a now-dismissed $400 million lawsuit, Baldoni’s legal team stated that he contacted Lively’s trainer to find out her weight. He wanted to prepare for a scene where he would be lifting her.

He reportedly wanted to ‘avoid injury’ since he ‘suffered from lifelong back injuries.’

Justin says that the following day, Lively called him up to her penthouse apartment. When he arrived, Reynolds was there and immediately began yelling at him, claiming Justin had made fun of his wife’s weight.

According to a complaint posted on his website, actor Ryan Reynolds allegedly shouted, ‘How dare you ask about my wife’s weight? What’s wrong with you?’

Baldoni explained he felt forced to repeatedly apologize for simply asking his trainer a legitimate and reasonable question.

Reynolds then demanded the scene was removed and Blake refused to perform the lift.
