Sklenar is a popular choice among fans to play Batman in the new DC Universe, and with Sweeney also frequently suggested for various DC hero roles, this project is generating a lot of excitement. Fans are already creating artwork imagining Sweeney as a DC character.

As the DC Universe is still finding its footing, James Gunn really needs to think long-term with his casting choices. And honestly, Sydney Sweeney, at just 28, feels like a brilliant pick to become one of the franchise’s mainstays. She’s already proven she can deliver in big projects like Euphoria and The White Lotus, and she’s definitely got the star power to carry a role for the next ten years or more.

Sweeney has even worked on superhero projects. Although Sony’s Madame Web didn’t perform well in theaters, the film’s cast – including Dakota Johnson and Isabela Merced (who played Hawkgirl in Superman) – wasn’t the problem. Even with limited screen time as Spider-Woman, Sweeney impressed audiences, and DC Films might be able to offer her another compelling role.

Sydney Sweeney proved her acting versatility by playing Cassie Howard in Euphoria. Cassie is a complicated character who fluctuates between being sweet and vulnerable to intensely angry, driven by her unstable pursuit of what she desires. In contrast, Sweeney’s character Bea in Anyone but You was self-assured and independent. This demonstrates Sweeney’s ability to portray a wide variety of roles.

Power Girl Not Being Played By Milly Alcock Would Be For The Best

DC could potentially have Milly Alcock portray both Supergirl and Power Girl, since Power Girl is essentially an alternate version of Supergirl from another Earth. We’ve already seen actors in Superman and season 2 of Peacemaker play clones or versions of themselves from different realities. However, while this could hint at Alcock taking on the role of Power Girl, I actually believe it’s a reason not to cast her in that part.

DC needs to start casting different actors to play alternate versions of its characters, or the idea of a vast multiverse won’t feel believable. For example, since Power Girl is typically portrayed as a more seasoned version of Supergirl, Sydney Sweeney would be a great fit for the role. Currently, the Supergirl we’re seeing has a more carefree and youthful personality, so Sweeney could bring a different, more mature take to the character.
