Tara Reid’s smoking pal denies her claim he spiked her drink after terrifying incident sent her to the hospital

A YouTube influencer has denied Tara Reid’s claims he spiked her drink over the weekend. 

According to a police report, Sean P. is connected to an incident where Reid’s drink at a hotel bar was possibly spiked. Reid lost consciousness and required hospitalization as a result.

TMZ reports that Sean P. says Reid told him he put a drug in her drink that night, but he insists he didn’t do it.

A spokesperson for 50-year-old Reid said they are simply trying to understand what occurred, responding to Sean’s claims.

The Daily Mail has also reached out to Sean P via social media but did not immediately hear back.  

Sean P told the publication he ran into the star of American Pie at the DoubleTree hotel bar in Rosemont, Illinois, late Saturday night.

Sean P. says they began talking, shared contact details, and then went outside for a cigarette after Reid suggested it.

He said Reid didn’t seem very eager to talk at first, and even made fun of his experience with YouTube.

She started to like him after he jokingly mentioned a video from 19 years ago, where TMZ caught her being turned away from a Hollywood club.

Sean claimed Reid seemed ‘tipsy’ and acknowledged he was as well. However, they were well enough to chat with one another.

Sean claimed that when he and Reid went back to the bar and he tried to pay, Reid gave him her purse and asked him to get her room key.

He claimed he saw pills inside the purse. In that moment, Sean claimed Reid screamed for security.

Security stepped in and asked if there was an issue, prompting them to both say, ‘No.’

Okay, so Sean said he suggested they step outside for another cigarette, and honestly, everything was normal for a second. But then, as they were walking towards the smoking area, Reid just…changed. Like, completely. One minute he was there, the next he was on the floor! It was so sudden, it was terrifying. I keep replaying it in my head, trying to figure out what happened, but it was just…abrupt. It was awful.

Reid thinks someone may have messed with her wine, but Sean P. said he didn’t see her drinking anything – though he admitted he wasn’t really watching her closely.

In her police report, Reid stated that Sean P sent her videos of herself the next day, which she believed was an attempt to blackmail her.

Sean claims he was simply trying to inform her that a friend possessed a video showing her being carried out of the hotel on a stretcher after being pushed.

Sean says that after he sent Reid a video, she claimed he had secretly put a drug in her drink – something he insists he didn’t do.

Okay, so things are getting really messy. Apparently, Reid’s team is saying Sean Penn is totally misremembering – or maybe even lying! – about who she thinks might have slipped something into her drink. They’re saying she never actually pointed the finger at him, and that his version of events is just…wrong. Honestly, it’s frustrating because I’m trying to piece everything together and now this is happening! It’s just… inaccurate, according to her people.

Sean P hasn’t spoken with any police but has talked with a lawyer.

Let me tell you, sometimes things happen when you least expect them! I was having a drink at the bar when this guy, Sean, came up to me. He was a pretty big influencer, a YouTuber, and hanging out with a bunch of other creators in the lobby. We struck up a conversation, and when I said I was going outside for a cigarette, he offered to join me. We chatted, swapped numbers, and when we came back inside, I noticed something really unsettling – a napkin had been placed over my drink.

The last thing I recall is having a drink and noticing a couple nearby. I woke up in the hospital eight or more hours later, completely disoriented and with no memory of what had happened. I had a total blackout – I don’t remember leaving the hotel, being in an ambulance, or anything at all in between.

My agent, Chris, managed to find out which hospital I was in and came to get me. They simply told me I was free to leave without providing any release or discharge paperwork. He double-checked with the hospital staff to confirm I was truly okay and cleared to go, and they assured him that I was.

He drove me back to the hotel so I could grab my bag and check out. Then we went to the event location, where I waited for my airport transportation. Since I returned to LA, I’ve been trying to file a police report. Initially, I was told I had to do it in person, not over the phone. Eventually, Lieutenant Joe called me and walked me through the process of filing the report online.

The man I was with, Sean P, sent me videos of myself the day after we met. I believed he was trying to blackmail me by threatening to share the videos. He also claimed I had called security on him and confirmed I only had one alcoholic drink. I am prepared to press charges.

The incident began at 10:00 PM on November 22nd and concluded at midnight on November 23rd, according to the report.

TMZ reports that tests were conducted to check for drugs in Reid’s system while she was hospitalized, but the results haven’t been released yet.

The Rosemont Public Safety Department stated on Tuesday that the actress has officially reported the incident and intends to press charges against anyone found to be involved.

According to a spokesperson, Tara Reid reported to the police that she thinks someone may have put something in her drink.

She is fully assisting with the investigation. Tara is healing and has requested privacy while she deals with this difficult experience.

She’s advising everyone to stay safe, keep a close eye on their drinks, and never leave them alone, as anyone could be a target. She won’t be saying anything more about this right now.

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 2:15 PM, Ms. Reid contacted the Rosemont Public Safety Department to report an incident. Because of the serious nature of her claims, the department helped her file a detailed report online. The Rosemont Detective Division received the completed report at 4:26 PM.

The Rosemont Public Safety Department takes these allegations very seriously and is thoroughly investigating what happened. We’re currently working with the hotel to collect any available video footage. Because this is a new and ongoing investigation, we don’t have any further details to share right now.
