Kim Kardashian’s ex Ray J is arrested on Thanksgiving after allegedly pulling gun on Princess Love

Ray J was arrested on Thanksgiving morning after reportedly pulling a gun and threatening someone. The incident was described as chaotic.

According to records from the Daily Mail, Ray J, whose full name is Willie Norwood, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department at 4:08 am. He was charged with making criminal threats, specifically actions described as causing terror and fear.

He remains in an LA jail on $50,000 bail, according to sheriff’s sources.

Under California law, a criminal threat involves telling someone you will cause them serious physical harm or kill them.

Police sources told TMZ that officers went to a home in Porter Ranch after receiving a report of a possible domestic dispute where threats were made.

Ray J reportedly went on a live video, seemingly upset, and said he was having a terrible Thanksgiving. He claimed someone was trying to take his kids and that he’d received threats.

During the live video, he allegedly grabbed a handgun, seemed to load it, and said things that people watching understood as threats. He reportedly warned that he would shoot anyone who came near his door.

According to reports, Princess Love then arrived with one of her children and claimed Ray J had aimed a gun at both her and their daughter.

Ray J allegedly denied this, instead claiming she and another individual were intoxicated.

Moments later, a man entered the home and confronted Ray J, triggering further escalation.

Ray J is accused of making further threats, and reportedly said he would shoot someone.

The livestream audio includes the sound of a child crying and police sirens as officers arrived at the home and started to secure it.

Princess told officers her son had mentioned a gun was on the table, although the recording of the conversation isn’t entirely clear.

Authorities reportedly cleared the residence and took Ray J into custody without further incident.

At this time, neither Ray J nor Princess Love has publicly commented on the alleged confrontation.  

We reached out to representatives from both sides for a statement, but they hadn’t responded to The Daily Mail’s request at the time of publication.

This situation is happening while they are going through a divorce, which has already involved public arguments and legal battles.

In April 2024, Ray J filed for joint custody of his two children.

Love initially filed for divorce in March, marking the fourth time they had tried to end their marriage.

The singer is requesting shared legal and physical custody of their two children: 6-year-old Melody and 5-year-old Epik.

Documents obtained by PEOPLE show that Kim Kardashian’s former partner has also asked for financial support from Pete Davidson, though the amount hasn’t been decided yet.

The documents also detailed how they would split their possessions, including jewelry and other personal items, along with the singer’s earnings.

The document noted that each party has other assets and debts, the details of which aren’t currently clear.

This is the fourth time they’ve separated, after initially splitting in the spring of 2020.

Princess Love and Ray J tied the knot in 2016 at The Cathedral of St. Vibiana in Los Angeles, as reported by People magazine.

She initially filed for divorce in May 2020, four years after getting married, following a big argument while in Las Vegas.

I remember when Princess and Ray J had a really public and messy fight back in November 2019, while she was pregnant with their second child. It happened in Las Vegas, and honestly, the details were all over the place – everyone seemed to have a different story about what actually went down.

She claimed he left her and their daughter, Melody, stranded in Las Vegas after they argued, but he maintained he never left the city.

Ray J and his wife briefly reconciled in the summer of 2020, but he filed for divorce just a few months later. They worked things out again and ultimately decided to move to Florida with their kids.

Ray J and his wife separated for a third time in October 2021, but they got back together in January 2023.

He officially requested the courts to dismiss his divorce filings two months later in March 2023.
