Watch ‘Spartacus’ New Gladiatrix Battle for Her Life in ‘House of Ashur’ Clip

The new Starz series, Spartacus: House of Ashur, is almost here, premiering on December 5, 2025! A recently released clip gives fans a sneak peek at what to expect when the show begins. This Spartacus spinoff explores an alternate storyline where Ashur survived and is thriving after defeating Spartacus on Mount Vesuvius.

A new clip from Starz, called “Bloody Disagreement,” shows Tenika Davis’ character fighting for her life against Roman soldiers. The clip reveals her battling to escape her captors, and she quickly proves her strength by defeating several opponents. However, her fight is cut short when Ashur, who has been observing the scene, knocks her down, holds a knife to her throat, and warns her to stay still.

It’s clear Davis is in trouble at the end of this clip, so we’ll have to wait for the premiere of House of Ashur to see what happens next. However, if this is any indication, the new series seems to be carrying on the spirit of the original Starz show with strong, compelling characters you’ll want to support. We don’t yet know Davis’s background, but she’s certainly facing a difficult situation. The trailer showed us she becomes a gladiatrix, but the journey to get there remains a mystery.

There Are Multiple Seasons of ‘House of Ashur’ Planned

If the recent preview didn’t excite fans of Spartacus, there’s even more good news. Creator Steven S. DeKnight recently told MovieWeb that House of Ashur isn’t intended to be a short, one-season miniseries. He hopes the show will continue for many years.

“When I created this show, the plan was always for five to seven seasons.”

Director Millicent DeKnight and actor Nick E. Tarabay, who plays Ashur, both seem optimistic about the show’s future. Tarabay playfully pretended to smoke a cigarette before saying fans will definitely see Ashur again. While Starz hasn’t officially announced whether House of Ashur will be renewed for another season, DeKnight and Tarabay’s confidence suggests an announcement could come soon after the first season premieres.

While we learn more about what’s next for the world of Spartacus, don’t miss the clip of Tenika Davis! Then, be sure to watch the premiere of House of Ashur on Starz December 5th – the first two episodes will kick off the new story. After that, new episodes will air every week until all 10 have been released.
