KRÜ Blaze silences the crowd after sending KC home at GCC 2025

KRÜ Blaze won the lower bracket and defeated KC, earning a spot in the top four at the Game Changers Championship 2025 – a first for the team.

KRÜ Blaze faced a tough challenge playing against the enthusiastic home crowd of Karmine Corp, but they rose to the occasion. They convincingly won in two maps, earning a spot in the top four at the 2025 VALORANT Game Changers Championship.

The Americas domination

After KC lost to KRÜ Blaze, all teams representing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) were knocked out of the tournament. GIANTX ended in 9th-10th place, and G2 Gozen finished 5th-6th. Notably, this was the first time G2 Gozen didn’t reach the top three. KRÜ Blaze was directly responsible for eliminating two of the three EMEA teams.

The Americas region is having a phenomenal run in the Game Changers Championship! For the first time, teams from this region – KRÜ Blaze, MIBR GC, Shopify Rebellion Gold, and Team Liquid Brazil – have swept the top four positions. What’s more, this is the first time ever that two teams from Brazil have made it into the top four.

KC Jiex: “We need more respect towards women.”

After their match, KC Şura’s Jiex spoke up about the need for greater respect for women in competitive gaming. She pointed out that female players demonstrate skill and dedication just like their male counterparts and deserve equal recognition. Jiex emphasized that women often work incredibly hard, yet don’t receive the same support or opportunities. She urged Riot Games to invest more in creating a welcoming and inclusive competitive environment, confident that such investment would be worthwhile.

Lately, a lot of us in the inclusive Valorant scene have been talking about how we don’t get the same international opportunities as the guys. They get three big international tournaments each year, but Game Changers only has one. I was listening to NOVA’s shirazi talk after a match, and she hit the nail on the head – we need more international tournaments, even during the off-season. It’s not just about getting better at the game, it helps us grow as players and as a community too.

KRÜ vs KC: dods breaks the ace record

KRÜ’s victory against KC propelled Caue “dods” Fernandes to the leading position in ace counts at the Game Changers Championship. He achieved four aces, surpassing both G2’s Petra “Petra” Stoker and Ava “florescent” Eugene, who each had three.

She also matched the record for the most aces in a single tournament, previously held by Florescent. They are now tied with three aces each. Will Dods continue the streak and set a new record at the event?

Despite the hostile crowd, Dods confidently displayed her strength. “They were booing, but it only fueled my determination to fight until the very end,” she explained at the press conference. “I really enjoyed the game – I just let loose and screamed! We’ve finally overcome our fifth-place finish, and we’re excited about what’s next.”

Coach Beatriz “Bebesita” Hornes expressed her excitement about facing MIBR GC, noting that her team was particularly eager for this match. She shared, “We’re really happy to play against MIBR,” and celebrated Brazil’s success in the competition.

KRÜ Blaze destroys KC

The matches were largely dominated by KRÜ Blaze, effectively ending KC’s chances in the tournament. While KC showed some promise on the first map and even managed to win five rounds on Split in the first half, they couldn’t maintain that momentum. KRÜ consistently controlled the game and ultimately proved too strong, preventing KC from competing at the GCC 2025.

KRÜ Blaze quickly took control of the second map, winning the first five rounds and putting KC in a difficult position. KC managed to win a couple of rounds, but it wasn’t enough to turn things around. KRÜ’s strong performance and communication gave them a clear advantage, and they finished the map in 35 minutes.
