Peter Capaldi, known for playing Doctor Who, has announced he’s embarking on a tour. Before becoming an actor, Capaldi was in a punk band called The Dreamboys, and he says the energy of the punk scene first sparked his interest in music.
Peter Capaldi, who played the Twelfth Doctor, is planning an eight-city tour of the UK next February and March. He’ll begin in Newcastle and then visit cities like Manchester, Edinburgh, Nottingham, and London.
The tour will highlight the artist’s unique sound – a blend of moody electronic music, distorted guitars, and a dramatic, romantic style. This follows a performance they gave earlier in the year, and suggests a new direction for the well-known performer.

Capaldi shared that he was in a band during his art school days, inspired by the punk rock scene. They chased the dream of becoming rock stars, but he ultimately became an actor. However, he never stopped loving music, and he’s recently released two albums of his own songs: ‘St.Christopher’ in 2021 and ‘Sweet Illusions’ this year.
I’ve been recording music for a while now, and while that’s great, I really wanted to try playing live again after so many years. I’m curious to see how it goes! Luckily, I’ve found an amazing band of young musicians who were willing to join me for this adventure.

Tour tickets become available tomorrow at 10am and can be purchased here. See the complete list of dates below.
Here’s the tour schedule: February 24th in Newcastle at The Cluny, February 26th in Manchester at Academy 3, February 27th in Edinburgh at La Belle Angele, March 1st in Leeds at Brudenell Social Club, March 3rd in Nottingham at Rescue Rooms, March 4th in Cardiff at The Globe, March 5th in Brighton at Concorde 2, and March 8th in London at 100 Club.
Peter Capaldi, who played the Doctor on Doctor Who from 2014 to 2017, has stated he won’t be returning to the role.

“No,” he said to Forbes. “I’ve been a Doctor Who fan since I was a child. The character I played in Criminal Record, Daniel Hegarty, is around my age, so maybe he was a fan as well.”
He represents a different time, and I love imagining my Doctor is still living his life somewhere. He isn’t able to return to television, and that’s how it should be. The true Doctor isn’t a TV character; he’s out there, living his own adventures.
