Coronation Street actress Lynne Verrall dies aged 76 after battling a long illness

Lynne Verrall, known for her role in Coronation Street, has passed away at 76 after a 50-year career in television and theatre.

She was best known for playing Geraldine Spellman on the ITV soap in 2017.

I was so incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of this amazing actress. Her agent, Samantha Boyd, confirmed she died in Paris on November 8th after a long and courageous fight with an illness. It’s a truly heartbreaking loss.

According to The Stage magazine, Lynne was eager to take on any challenge and constantly sought opportunities for personal and professional growth. She lived life with enthusiasm and fully embraced every experience.

A French fundraising page has been set up in her memory, to help fight motor neurone disease.

Our wonderful friend Lynne confronted her Motor Neurone Disease with her usual humor and bravery. Even when things were incredibly difficult, she remained cheerful and never lost her spirit.

Just like Lynne always did, she thoughtfully included a donation in her will to ARSLA, the Parisian association dedicated to fighting MND, to support those battling this terrible disease.

If you want to remember her and help fight this disease – a cause ARSLA powerfully promotes – a small donation to their organization would be greatly appreciated.

I can practically hear Lynne chuckling and responding with a cheerful, ‘That’s exactly what I like to see—no need to make a big deal, but thank you, dear.’
