Just before winning Dancing With the Stars, Robert Irwin was seen meeting privately with Xochitl Gomez, who is rumored to be his girlfriend.
The 21-year-old conservationist was spotted chatting with the 19-year-old American actress behind the scenes before his last show performance.
Xochitl beamed as she gave Robert a large bouquet of flowers and a warm hug.
The pair chatted and laughed moments before Robert’s sister, Bindi Irwin, joined them.
Xochitl wore a chic black halter dress, and Robert looked sharp in a glittering dance top and sparkly pants.
Rumors of a romance between Robert and Xochitl began earlier this month after they shared a close dance during the celebration of Dancing With the Stars US’s 20th anniversary.
Viewers could not help but notice their on-screen ‘chemistry’ as they delivered an impressive Jive.
The actress known for her role in The Baby-Sitters Club, and winner of Season 32 in 2023, appeared as a guest on the show, filling in for Robert’s regular dance partner, Witney Carson.
Last November, Robert shared that he’s still hoping to find a partner, following his breakup with Rorie Buckey in February 2024.
He appeared on Nine’s Today show and confessed there was ‘no one special’ in his life at that time.
After being called one of Australia’s most desirable single men on the show, a shy Robert admitted that he finds dating difficult.
He acknowledged it’s challenging to live with so much public attention.
Robert said he wasn’t currently dating anyone. When asked about his ideal partner, he described what qualities he was hoping to find.
‘I’m one of those people who is kind of gonna let it happen, I’m gonna let that unfold as it will.
I find inspiration in my parents, and I see my sister, Bindi Irwin, who recently married Chandler, as a role model as well.
He explained that he’s looking for someone who’s adventurous and embraces his fast-paced lifestyle. He wants a partner to share all of his experiences with, someone who’s open to everything life has to offer, and who he can truly connect with.
Robert and Rorie, both 20, reportedly started dating in November 2022, but didn’t publicly confirm their relationship on Instagram until August 2023.
Before Rorie and Robert became a couple, Rorie apparently finished a special training program—a ‘wildlife warrior boot camp’—approved by Irwin himself.
According to a December 2023 article in Woman’s Day, Rorie needed to prove herself to the family by showing she enjoyed outdoor activities.
During a research trip focused on crocodiles, the couple discovered important information that will help the Wildlife Warriors Worldwide foundation.
Robert’s mother, Terri, who raised her children with her late husband Steve and sister Bindi, was proud of how committed Robert was to helping Australian animals.
Robert and Rorie were in a long-distance relationship because Robert works at Australia Zoo in Queensland, and Rorie lives in Perth.
