Garrick Merrifield, known from the TV show Seeking Sister Wife, was arrested in Colorado on November 24, 2025, and faces domestic violence charges.
The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office told People magazine that the star of the TLC reality show is facing charges for both domestic violence and interfering with phone services. He has been released from jail, but it’s unknown whether he’s accepted a plea bargain or if the case will go to court.
As of right now, details about his arrest haven’t been released to the public. TLC has not yet made a statement about what happened.
The arrest happened just under two weeks after Merrifield announced the birth of his daughter with his wife, Lorrana. Merrifield and his first wife, Dannielle, met Lorrana when they decided to practice polygamy and became part of the reality show Seeking Sister Wife. They were married for ten years and have three children together, but they divorced in 2020 so Merrifield could marry Lorrana.
Garrick had previously expressed a belief that God wanted him to practice polygamy. This led him and his wife, Dannielle, to search for another partner, and they eventually found Lorrana.
The arrest of Merrifield brings up concerns about the future of the reality show Seeking Sister Wife, which has already faced criticism for its controversial storylines. His legal issues might change how the show presents his family, or even if his story will continue to be featured.
Reality TV shows frequently face challenges when dealing with cast members who cause problems, and TLC hasn’t said anything yet, which likely means they’re still figuring out what to do.
