Harry Styles’ sister Gemma braves cold waters as she shares throwback snaps from a lavish trip to Austria

Gemma Styles braved cold waters as she shared throwback snaps from a lavish holiday to Austria.

The 34-year-old writer and podcast host shared photos from her trip last month on Instagram on Wednesday.

Harry Styles’ sister, Gemma, looked radiant in a selfie she shared, posing in front of a beautiful lakeside mountain view.

She took a photo wearing a navy blue swimsuit with thick straps, tortoise-shell sunglasses, and an orange towel wrapped around her.

She quickly shared another photo, this time a selfie with her friend Kim Butler, after they’d gone for a swim in the lake.

She shared photos and wrote that a recent afternoon she spent in Austria is still on her mind.

I swam out to the platform, but it was closed for the winter. Suddenly, the swim back felt much longer than I expected. It made me think someone could probably turn that into a clever analogy for LinkedIn!

Last year, Gemma openly shared that she had thoughts of suicide while dealing with depression.

She described feeling empty and lacking self-worth, and although she generally keeps to herself, she’s sharing her experiences in her new book, Why Am I Like This?, hoping to connect with and support others.

As a long-time supporter of mental health awareness, I’ve always been struck by how powerful sharing personal stories can be. Gemma recently shared something that really resonated with me: simply saying ‘that happened to me, I felt like that, and now I’m doing better’ can make a huge difference for someone struggling with suicidal thoughts or deep depression. It’s about letting people know they’re not alone, and that things can get better.

I wasn’t necessarily seeking death, but I desperately wanted to escape the way my life had turned out – it felt like the same thing.

Gemma, who recently had a baby with her partner Michal Miynowski, shared that although she’s doing well now, she worries about experiencing depression again in the future.

Honestly, a part of me always worries it could all happen again, that same awful thing. But I really try not to think about it too much. I’ve gotten through it once, you know? I know I have the strength to do it again, and focusing on that helps me push the fear away. It’s like, I survived before, and I will survive again if I have to.

Gemma shared that her brother, Harry, the famous singer, has been a wonderful support during her mental health challenges and is a very involved and caring uncle.

Gemma shared with The Sunday Times that despite his successful tour and performances with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, the former One Direction member still makes time to support her.

She shared that Harry is a very involved uncle and even helped out by babysitting his niece while she was doing an interview with the newspaper.

The singer has significantly supported Gemma’s well-being, and Gemma shared in her book’s acknowledgements that her brother offered encouraging advice and motivation.

She thanked her mother, Anne Twist and ‘H for the pep talks and your endless wisdom’.

Gemma shared in the interview that her family is very open about mental health, which has been a source of comfort for her over the years.

Even though she’s the older sister, she shared that she doesn’t often give Harry advice, explaining that the entire Styles family supports one another.
