Tara Reid reported to police that she believes she was drugged at a Chicago hotel bar. Disturbing video footage shows her appearing unwell in a wheelchair before being taken to the hospital, describing what she experienced as a frightening incident.
The Rosemont Public Safety Department stated on Tuesday that the actress has officially reported the incident and intends to press charges against anyone found to be involved.
According to a spokesperson, Tara Reid reported to the police that she thinks someone may have put something in her drink.
She is fully assisting with the investigation. Tara is on the mend and has requested privacy as she deals with this difficult experience.
She’s advising everyone to be cautious and keep a close eye on their drinks, never leaving them unattended, because these kinds of incidents can happen to anyone. She won’t be sharing any further information right now.
This announcement follows a recent claim by the celebrity that she was drugged and lost consciousness early Sunday morning.
I was really concerned to see recent videos circulating of Natasha Lyonne. It appears she became unwell and needed medical attention. Reports show she was seen being helped into a wheelchair and then transported to the hospital on a stretcher. It’s definitely a worrying situation, and we’re all hoping she gets the care she needs and makes a full recovery.
She appeared confused and spoke in a way that didn’t make sense to those assisting her. At one point, she fell out of the wheelchair while security attempted to guide her through the hotel lobby.
After receiving help back into her chair, Reid was placed on a stretcher by paramedics and taken away.
According to TMZ, Reid said she arrived at the hotel late Saturday and went to the hotel bar for a drink.
She ordered a beverage and then went outside to smoke a cigarette.
She says she saw several YouTubers in the lobby, and one of them went outside with her to smoke.
Reid said she found a napkin over her drink when she got back to the bar, but she insists she didn’t put it there herself.
Reid then says she took the napkin off the cup and proceeded to consume the beverage.
But then, the outlet writes, ‘the next thing she remembers, she was in the hospital.’
Reid has previously battled substance abuse, but she told TMZ she only had a single drink on Sunday night.
According to the person who filmed the video, Reid was yelling, ‘You have no idea who I am! I’m famous – I’m an actress!’ before the paramedics arrived, TMZ reported.
In an interview with TMZ on Monday, Reid described the situation, explaining she hadn’t yet reported it to the police and wasn’t sure what tests were performed at the hospital to determine if she’d been drugged.
I arrived at the hotel, checked in, and went down for a drink and a cigarette. I ordered my drink, left it at the bar, and went outside to smoke. That’s when I noticed a lot of YouTubers were in the lobby – they were everywhere, filming things. It was just a strange scene, she explained.
I went back to my drink at the bar and noticed a napkin covering it, which was strange because I hadn’t put it there. I took a sip, and almost immediately, I lost consciousness. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in the hospital, eight hours had passed.
When asked about drug tests or a blood alcohol test, she explained that she was simply told she had been drugged. According to her, authorities just stated, “You were drugged,” and said she had been drugged at the bar the night before.
She said no tests were done to identify the drug, explaining that the events were hazy and unclear. She struggled to describe what happened, admitting she didn’t really know what had occurred.
Harvey Levin pointed out that it seems logical for hospital staff to want to know what drug caused someone to lose consciousness, so they can provide the best treatment.
“I have no idea,” Reid said. “I was out cold, so I didn’t see what happened, if that makes sense.”
Someone was assigned to stay with me, a woman who sat nearby. For a moment, I actually thought I was in Mexico because she wasn’t speaking English, which was really confusing. Eventually, my agent arrived, we went to a signing event, completed it, and then I returned home.
‘It was just a big blur,’ she continued.
Charles Latibeaudiere asked if a police report had been filed, or if one was planned. He also suggested checking the hotel lobby’s security cameras, as they might have captured what occurred.
Reid said he was still processing everything, explaining that he’d just returned last night. He admitted the situation was frightening and overwhelming.
She was relieved the incident happened where other people were around, explaining that the presence of security personnel was a huge help. She worried that if it had happened somewhere private, the situation could have been much more dangerous, even suggesting a possible sexual assault. She repeated the word ‘public’ several times while expressing her relief, and emphasized how easily things could have gone terribly wrong.
Levin became concerned when Reid mentioned having one drink, given her history with substance abuse. He asked if she felt she could now drink responsibly.
Honestly, I really only had one glass of wine, that’s all. I never touch hard liquor. Just a glass of wine and a cigarette, and I certainly didn’t anticipate how things would unfold after that! It really took me by surprise.
In 2008 Reid sought help for substance abuse at Promise’s rehab in Malibu.
In 2009, she told In Touch that rehab had been life-saving for her. She explained that before getting help, she dreaded the future, but now she looks forward to it because she’s healthy and sober.

‘I had body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing.’
Due to her naturally thin frame, she has previously faced eating disorders rumours.
‘I have no anorexia and never have,’ she told the Los Angeles Inquisitor in a past interview.
