The news of Scott Barlow, former chairman of Sydney FC, separating from his wife Alina, a Russian heiress, caused quite a stir in Sydney’s eastern suburbs when it became public in late 2024.

When people heard that Barlow had been seen on what appeared to be two dates this month with Tara Brain, a real estate agent working with Cohen Handler, gossip quickly spread.

They reportedly went on dates at two popular restaurants: The Press in Merivale’s city center, and Grill Americano, a new steakhouse by Chris Lucas.

According to a source who spoke with The Daily Telegraph, everyone noticed them on their date, suggesting they had met before.

‘They looked extremely loved up.’

However, the Daily Mail reports that Tara attracted the attention of several wealthy single men in the eastern suburbs, not just Barlow.

Tom Fennell, a youthful and energetic investor, reportedly showed interest in Tara before she became involved with funds manager Barlow.

Fennell, age 52, is famous for throwing extravagant parties at his luxurious home in Point Piper, and people say Tara had been a guest before.

However, it’s hard to believe Fennell is truly upset. He’s wealthy and charismatic, so he always seems to have plenty of female attention.

The Barlows separated in November last year, after a decade of marriage.

Alina, who was previously heartbroken by the split, seems to have moved on. She was recently seen on a date in Double Bay.

After their breakup, she is reportedly continuing to live in the couple’s luxurious home on Queens Avenue in Vaucluse.

It’s noteworthy that one of Barlow’s dates with Tara happened to fall on his ex-wife Alina’s birthday. Alina, who owns ALINKA Fine Jewellery, celebrated with around 100 friends at the newly opened Gran Torino in Double Bay.

Barlow led Sydney FC, a soccer club previously owned by the stepfather of Alina, David Traktovenko, who is a Russian businessman.

He stepped down from the role in June after 13 years. 

Most recently, Fennell was known to be dating Annabelle Price, a stylish mother of one.

News of their fast engagement spread quickly in June 2023 when Fennell proposed to Price, who is in her thirties, with a five-carat diamond ring.

Just over a year after getting engaged, Price and their partner ended things quietly in August 2024. The breakup wasn’t made public until March of this year.

Chris Fennell, known for his energetic and vibrant personality, was formerly married to Vanessa Jacobs Fennell, a South African philanthropist. She was also considered to be on the cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney.
