SHIFT UP, the studio behind the popular game, has partnered with Level Infinite, a part of Tencent, to publish their new title, Project Spirits, worldwide. This is the second collaboration between the two companies. Originally announced in June 2025, Project Spirits is now being co-developed with Yongxing Interactive, which is also affiliated with Tencent.

It’s logical that Level Infinite will publish Project Spirits, considering their success with the global launch of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. Project Spirits is a new game for multiple platforms, built in Unreal Engine 5, and features a fantasy setting inspired by Eastern culture.
Great news! SHIFT UP is now working with Yongxing Interactive to develop the game. Yongxing Interactive’s team includes experienced developers from popular game studios who specialize in games appealing to fans of anime, comics, and games (ACG). This partnership has increased expectations, as both companies are dedicated to making this project, ‘Project Spirits,’ even more successful than their previous collaboration.
Okay, so details are still pretty scarce, but I’m really hoping this turns out to be that big, open-world, sci-fi action RPG that SHIFT UP was hiring people for last April. What we do know is it’s going to have a really cool anime art style. Though, I’ve noticed some hints that they might be using AI-generated art, and honestly, that could be a turn-off for some players, including me if it’s too obvious.
Level Infinite is working to bring a new era of gaming to players around the world. The game is scheduled to launch globally in 2027, and we’ll share more details in the months ahead, so keep an eye out for updates!
