Mass Effect Successor Exodus Will Finally Reemerge At TGA 2025

The science fiction role-playing game, Exodus, will get a new trailer at The Game Awards. With the Mass Effect series currently paused, fans have been looking for a similar experience, and Exodus, developed by former BioWare team members, looks like a strong contender. Exodus was first shown at The Game Awards last year, but hasn’t had many trailers since.

As a fan, I’m so excited! It feels like forever, but we’re finally getting a new look at Exodus! The official social media accounts said a new trailer will drop at The Game Awards on December 11th. They did share a tiny teaser, but honestly, it doesn’t show much. Still, The Game Awards always has the biggest names in gaming, so it seems like Archetype Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast are really trying to get people hyped up beforehand.

This is your call to rise. A new EXODUS trailer premieres live at @thegameawards.com. December 11. Don’t miss it. Synchronize your timepiece: thegameawards.com — EXODUS (@exodusgameofficial.bsky.social) 2025-11-25T17:05:00.358Z

Exodus Will Release A New Trailer At The Game Awards 2025

The Game Awards have become the go-to event for announcing new video games, often functioning more as a showcase of upcoming titles than a traditional awards ceremony. While the game Exodus was first revealed at The Game Awards 2023, its gameplay trailer wasn’t shown during the event and was released a week later in 2024.

The game Exodus quickly gained attention thanks to its unique setting and similarities to Mass Effect. However, excitement really increased when it was announced that Matthew McConaughey would be voicing a character named C.C. Orlev, featured in a chilling trailer that introduced a frightening enemy race called the Mara Yama.

With so many people watching The Game Awards each year, we’ll probably see more of the game Exodus, and they might even announce when it will be released. Exodus is currently planned to come out in 2026, and with the new year approaching, the game’s developers could be getting ready to launch it.

McConaughey-Led Sci-Fi RPG Is A Promising Mass Effect Successor

Not much has been revealed about the game Exodus yet, but it’s looking promising. It’s the first project from Archetype Entertainment, a new studio formed by former BioWare developers James Ohlen, Chad Robertson, and Drew Karpyshyn. Since the studio was founded in 2019, Exodus has been in development for a considerable time – though a long development process doesn’t always guarantee a great game.

Notably, Exodus is spearheading the development of Wizards of the Coast’s new science fiction tabletop RPG, also called Exodus. The larger world established in Exodus is also serving as the foundation for a new franchise from Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast’s parent company. While launching a franchise based on a game that hasn’t been fully tested might worry some players, it does show that Hasbro is heavily investing in this new property.

I’m really excited for the trailer at The Game Awards 2025 – it’s going to be a huge test for Exodus. If they’re still aiming for a 2026 release, they need to wow us now. I think they could get a lot of attention by featuring Matthew McConaughey, but honestly, with such a massive audience at The Game Awards, just showing off some amazing gameplay would be the smartest move for Exodus.
