With season 2 of the crime drama Patience coming to Channel 4, fans are getting a first look at a role played by an actor known from Doctor Who. The show follows Patience Evans, played by Ella Maisy Purvis, a talented investigator who moves from a quiet job in the York police’s records department to working directly on solving crimes.
In season two, Jessica Hynes, famous for playing Joan Redfern and Verity Newman in Doctor Who, joins the cast. She replaces Laura Fraser, who previously played Patience’s supervisor, DI Bea Metcalf, in Breaking Bad.
Following Fraser’s exit from the series, Hynes has been cast as Detective Frankie Monroe.
