“Compelling” and “spectacular” star-studded drama confirms BBC UK return in January with first look

The intense financial drama Industry will be back in early 2024, and we’re getting our first look at what’s in store for Myha’la Herrold and Kit Harington’s characters in the new season. The HBO and BBC One series has become popular since its quiet debut in 2020.

The TV series Industry primarily focuses on the high-pressure world of investment banking, specifically at a London firm called Pierpoint. It centers around Harper Stern, a gifted analyst originally from New York, and the stressful experiences of her and her colleagues.

Okay, so I just saw some first-look pics for season 4, and it looks like Harper’s really thriving! Apparently, she’s moved to New York and started her own hedge fund. It’s awesome to see her doing so well, and the season’s not even out until January 2026!

What to Read Next

Sir Henry Muck, the head of Harington Lumi, is having a tough time. At the end of Season 3, he was engaged to Yasmin, who is actually in love with Rob, who has left to start a business focused on psilocybin.

In Season 4, we’re introduced to a new group of characters: the team from the payment processing startup, Tender.

Kiernan Shipka, known from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Kal Penn from How I Met Your Mother, and Max Minghella of The Handmaid’s Tale will star in Tender. Shipka will play Haley Clay, an executive assistant, while Penn and Minghella will portray the startup’s co-founders, Jay Jonah Atterbury and Whitney Halberstram, respectively.

I’m really excited for season 4 because they’re adding some awesome new faces! Charlie Heaton, who you probably know from Stranger Things, is playing a financial journalist named Jim Dycker. Amy James-Kelly is joining the cast as Jennifer Bevan, a Labour minister, and Toheeb Jimoh, who was hilarious in Ted Lasso, is going to be playing Kwabena Bannerman. Can’t wait to see them all in action!

The latest additions to the team join a talented group of individuals, including Eric Tao (Ken Leung), Harper’s previous supervisor, along with Rishi Ramdani (Sagar Radia) and Sweetpea Golightly (Miriam Petche).

Season 3 has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have called the show “spectacular,” according to The Daily Beast.

Despite occasionally leaning into over-the-top drama, the latest season of Industry remains entertaining thanks to its wild and unpredictable plot.

In a review, The Times described the series as “horribly addictive,” praising its performances and writing, while also noting its bleak and depressing atmosphere.

If you’re into high-stakes dramas like I am, and you haven’t seen Industry yet, you’re in for a treat! It’s a pretty intense show, but perfect for a twisty binge-watching session over the holidays. All three seasons are available, so you can really dive in.

Season 4 of Industry will premiere on HBO in the US on January 11, 2026. It will also air on BBC One in January, though the specific UK release date hasn’t been announced yet. UK viewers can currently stream the first three seasons on iPlayer.
