A year or two ago, I would never have believed I could play a complete WWE 2K game on my phone through Netflix. But here it is – WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition is available now, and my phone happily downloaded it. It’s pretty incredible!
I’ve enjoyed WWE 2K games for years, both on consoles and at arcades with friends. But I especially loved the mobile version I played when I was younger because it was so convenient. That’s why I was really excited about WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition.
I easily spent a lot of time playing WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition, and here’s my review and whether I think it’s worth checking out.
Graphics immediately hook you in, but the experience disappoints
I was immediately struck by how good the graphics looked. The character models are detailed, the lighting is excellent, and the shadows, even on my Xiaomi 15 Ultra, were particularly impressive. The game ran smoothly without any lag or stuttering – it didn’t feel like a typical mobile game at all.
The biggest downside is definitely the entrances. They feel rushed and incomplete, like parts were skipped over. More complete entrances would have really enhanced the show, especially considering how good the performers look and the fact that there’s already a skip function. However, the pyrotechnics used for some entrances, like Shawn Michaels’, were fantastic.

I also really liked the commentary team. Michael Cole and Corey Graves surprisingly made the game feel much more authentic. That’s a big benefit for a wrestling game on mobile, and it helped the matches feel more realistic.
The game feels less immersive because it’s missing key interactive features. Things like being able to interact with the announcer’s table or utilize barricades during matches are absent, and there’s really no good reason for that. These moments are iconic to WWE and should have been included to enhance the experience.
Basic yet in-depth controls and slow inputs ruin the whole flow
However, the controls are a bit of a problem. After a lengthy, unskippable tutorial, which initially made the game seem easy, I’m struggling to get the hang of things. While the basic attacks and movement are straightforward, more complex moves feel sluggish and awkward.
Having to press and hold buttons until arrows appear isn’t ideal for quick mobile games. It often felt like actions were delayed, and I wasn’t sure if I was pressing the buttons correctly or if the game wasn’t responding.

I appreciate the innovative control scheme, and it’s a fresh approach. However, I’m having trouble getting comfortable with it. I prefer simpler controls – for instance, I really like how responsive the controls are in Wrestling Revolution 3D.
This game really should have controller support, but it doesn’t, which is a big oversight. The controls on screen aren’t very responsive either. Plus, the game’s interface is quite plain – it’s functional, but lacks any visual flair or personality.
Game modes should have been the fun part, but it isn’t
WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition falls short when you look closely at what it offers. It includes standard 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 matches, Career mode, and online Multiplayer. However, the amount of actual content within each of these modes is surprisingly limited.

The lack of popular match types like Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell, Ladder Matches, and Elimination Chamber is a major drawback for this WWE game. It quickly becomes repetitive, and you’ll find yourself running out of things to do after playing for just a short time.
Career Mode lets you develop any wrestler you choose. I spent a lot of time having LA Knight fight Kofi and Jimmy Uso, and while it was amusing to see him treated like he is in real life—without any shots at the championship—the gameplay quickly became repetitive.
It’s just endless grinding: battle, earn experience, improve stats, and repeat. There’s no real story, no dramatic scenes, and no choices that matter. It makes me question if I even enjoy this anymore. The game rates my performance, but I often get low scores – two stars or less – simply because I want the matches to be over.
I couldn’t get the multiplayer to work at all. I couldn’t connect to any games, and my friends had trouble even installing it because of compatibility problems. After trying several times, the matchmaking system couldn’t find any other players. Basically, the online multiplayer isn’t working right now.

It’s important to note that the game has compatibility problems. Many players, including myself, have had trouble installing it – even on high-end devices. For example, I couldn’t install it on my iQOO Neo 7 Pro, which I normally use for gaming.
No money-spending system and offline support are the bright spots here
Because this is a Netflix game, you don’t have to worry about any in-app purchases. Just a regular Netflix subscription is all you need! It’s nice to play without constant requests for money or virtual items. Plus, you can download the game and play offline, which is really convenient – you can save your progress and pick up right where you left off anytime.
Final Verdict
WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition is a visually impressive game that runs smoothly, and the commentary really enhances the matches. However, it doesn’t quite live up to its full potential. After playing for a short while, the limited game modes and poor online features become noticeable, preventing it from being truly outstanding.
Even as a big WWE fan, I eventually found myself getting bored with the game. While it looks good, there just isn’t much to do. It could have been great with a friend, but finding matches is difficult and the game isn’t compatible with many devices.
If Netflix and 2K can resolve the technical problems, expand gameplay options, improve controls, and create a better online experience, this game has the potential to be very popular. Right now, however, it still needs significant improvements to truly capture a large audience and become a major success.

WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition initially seems promising, but the fun doesn’t last long. Clunky controls, a lack of game modes, a disappointing career path, and unreliable multiplayer significantly detract from the experience.
