Bachelor alum Hannah Ann Sluss and NFL player Jake Funk welcome their first child

Hannah Ann Sluss and her husband Jake Funk have welcomed their first child together.

The 29-year-old reality TV star shared on Monday that she and her 27-year-old football player partner are overjoyed with their newborn baby.

Sluss announced the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a cute photo of their dog sporting a bandana that said ‘Big Brother’.

She shared that they’ve been enjoying precious time at home with their new baby, and promised to share more details soon.

The two did not say whether they welcomed a boy or a girl, or any other details about the newborn. 

The reality TV star shared a video earlier this week showing her preparing for childbirth in the hospital.

‘POV: The night before our whole world changes,’ she wrote over the clip.

Jake was pictured leaning down and giving her a sweet kiss in the video. 

She posted a photo of herself alone in the hospital bed, writing ‘Peace before the push’ as the caption.

She also shared a picture of the comfortable two-piece maternity set from Lillusory that she wore to the hospital.

The couple announced this past June that they were expecting their first child together.

‘We found out we were expecting during a trip to Dubai,’ she told People in June.

‘It was such an unexpected and joyful surprise! A moment we’ll always treasure.’

At the time, Sluss shared her beach maternity photos on Instagram.

We truly believe God is guiding this whole journey, and we are counting down the days until we finally get to meet you!

She shared with People magazine that she experienced some morning sickness early in her pregnancy. Since then, she’s teamed up with Zarbee’s, a health company created by pediatricians.

Becoming new parents, we’ve been researching carefully and making thoughtful choices about everything our baby will use and be exposed to. Since our baby is due in November, right at the start of cold and flu season, we wanted to make sure we were well-prepared.

In a July interview with Us Weekly, she discussed her pregnancy, saying it felt like it was flying by. She explained that the first three months felt very long, but then suddenly she was already more than halfway through.

Jake is still amazed that there’s a baby on the way, and we’re both incredibly grateful and excited. We know it will feel more and more real as we go to doctor’s appointments and see the baby grow on the ultrasound.

The two were wed at a castle in Italy back in June 2024, after nearly three years of dating.

Hannah explained that they chose to have a very intimate wedding, wanting to concentrate on the meaning of their commitment rather than a big, showy event. ‘It’s easy to get carried away with the extravagance,’ she said.

She added that ‘having our wedding just for us made the most sense and made it meaningful.’ 

Sluss won Season 24 of The Bachelor after Peter Weber proposed to her in the finale. 

However, Weber ended things quickly after admitting he still had feelings for Madison Prewett, who had been the runner-up on the show.

Meanwhile Funk is currently a free agent.

His last team was the Jacksonville Jaguars, who cut him from their practice squad in 2024.

He previously also played for the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Rams.
