The Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood takes you inside a real film studio, so you might spot a celebrity. While it’s rare, sometimes a big star like Dwayne Johnson will even stop the tour to say hello to everyone on the tram!
The Rock Made Himself Part Of The Universal Studios Tour
Dwayne Johnson has never been shy about saying hello to fans. He’s often stopped to wave at tour buses that are checking out the homes of celebrities, like his. However, he took things a step further recently. In a video posted to Instagram, while filming the next Jumanji movie on the Universal Pictures backlot, The Rock stopped a tour to say hello to everybody on board. Check it out.

Johnson spoke to the crowd about how much the Universal lot means to him, explaining it’s where he filmed The Scorpion King, his very first movie role. During the studio tour, you can even spot the building that houses Seven Bucks Productions, Johnson’s own production company, from the tram. He likely passed by it on his way to or from work when he hopped on the tram.
People are loving this moment, and many are praising The Rock for being so thoughtful and connecting with his fans. Here’s what some of them are saying…
- You’re casually on vacation and The Rock stops next to you. Great stuff man. Can’t wait for Jumanji 3.
- This man just gets it. Love the Rock 🔥🔥🔥
- So humble, you’re the man 🔥👑
- The rock doin’ rock tings! 💪🏽
It’s a really fun concept, but it makes you wonder: how many Jumanji films are there?
Wait, Is It Jumanji 3 Or Jumanji 4?
Dwayne Johnson and several people commenting on his social media are calling the upcoming movie Jumanji 3. However, it’s almost certain the film will have a title with a subtitle instead of a number. This is likely because using numbers can be confusing, given the history of the franchise.
Dwayne Johnson is currently filming his third movie in the Jumanji series, after Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level. But when you include the very first Jumanji film starring Robin Williams – and the newer movies consider it part of the same story – this new one is actually Jumanji 4.
The recent Jumanji movies have both been successful, so there’s likely a lot of anticipation for the next installment. It’s currently scheduled to come out during the 2026 holiday season. Hopefully, we’ll find out the official title before then to avoid confusion about which Jumanji film it is.
