Married At First Sight veteran Michael Goonan is engaged to his partner Maddy.
The 34-year-old reality TV personality announced his engagement Monday night with a sweet video of the proposal on social media.
The heartwarming video captures Michael guiding his partner towards a small shed on a farm, bathed in the beautiful light of the setting sun.
The shed door slowly opens, revealing a beautiful surprise: the inside is filled with lovely red roses and a large ‘Marry Me’ sign.
Filled with emotion, Michael got down on one knee, presented a beautiful engagement ring, and asked Maddy to marry him. She happily said yes!
A photo showed the happy couple hugging and celebrating their engagement.
Michael captioned the clip with some excited words: ‘She said YES!’.
Lots of Michael’s fans immediately went to the comments to share their congratulations on his exciting announcement.
‘Absolute best decision you’ve made all year! congratulations again love birds,’ one person wrote.
‘Finally! Been hoping for this forever. Congratulations,’ a second added.
Michael and Stacey Hampton were matched on the seventh season of Married at First Sight in 2020, but their relationship didn’t last.
In 2021, Michael shared that he and his former girlfriend, KC Osborne, had resolved their differences after appearing together on the reality show Celebrity Ex on The Beach.
During an Instagram question-and-answer session, Michael revealed he’s resolved his issues with KC, but is still working through things with Stacey.
I was so interested to see if things could be smoothed over! After everything, he actually asked Stacey Hampton if she’d be open to being friends again, which I thought was a really mature move. It’s good to see him trying to mend fences, honestly.
‘You want to make peace? I know you’re seeing this?’ he cheekily asked.
Michael said his connection with KC felt much more grown-up and stable than the one his characters had on TV with Stacey.
Honestly, things with Stacey and I were really tough. We’d argue for days whenever our feelings came up, and I just don’t understand why it always ended up that way. It was exhausting, and I still feel lost about it all.
The mother of two initially agreed to appear on the new show with her former husband from Married at First Sight, but she later changed her mind and decided not to participate.
A source told Daily Mail: ‘Stacey isn’t interested. She doesn’t care for it.’

Michael and KC, who met on Married At First Sight and later dated for several months after Michael’s relationship with Stacey ended, filmed the show Ex on the Beach in Colombia in 2021. They were allowed to film there after receiving the necessary work permits.
