Deborra-Lee Furness is starting a new, independent phase of her life after separating from Hugh Jackman, choosing to focus on herself.

The 69-year-old Australian actress has been seen enjoying time in New York City with her close friends, and seems to be focusing on those friendships rather than pursuing romantic relationships.

New Idea reports that after her split, the mom of two is focusing solely on female friendships during what she calls a year of personal growth.

Recently, Furness seemed happy and at ease while walking through Manhattan with her close friend and fellow artist, Sarah Sze. They were seen walking together, chatting and laughing.

She’s been stepping out more, and people close to her say it’s been helping her heal after a difficult divorce in 2023.

She has also been stepping out at A-list events across New York.

Furness went to the premiere of ‘All Her Fault’ with her friend, chef Mikaela Reuben. Afterwards, she attended a screening and chatted with Mickey Sumner, Sting’s daughter.

The actress recently told New Idea that she’s been relying heavily on her close female friends, explaining that ‘having good girlfriends is essential for all women.’
