Tessa Thompson dazzles in a green sequin dress as she joins Gisele Bundchen and Tyra Banks at the Franca Fund Gala in Qatar

Tessa Thompson shone at the Franca Fund Gala in Doha, Qatar on Sunday, surrounded by top models and fashion industry leaders.

The 42-year-old actress looked stunning in a shimmering green dress, paired with white evening gloves and heels. She posed on the pink carpet at the Museum of Islamic Art alongside designer Pier Paolo Piccioli.

Gisele Bündchen, 45, looked stunning in a glittering black dress that highlighted her figure.

Tyra Banks was also at the event, a fundraiser celebrating the life and work of Franca Sozzani, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia.

The supermodel wowed in a black velvet gown with silver embellishment and matching evening gloves.

I’m so excited that all the money raised from this event is going to The Franca Fund! They’ve been working closely with Dr. Robert Green at Harvard, and I really believe in their important work to push forward research in preventing disease through genomics – it’s a cause I’m truly passionate about.

Sisters Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza Spencer, both 33, made a striking impression in beautifully detailed gowns.

Azza Slimene, 27, put on an edgy display as she showed off her curves in a corset and long skirt.

Franca’s son, Francesco Carrozzini, created the charity after learning his mother’s cancer was too far along for effective treatment.

Before the event, Francesco explained to Vogue that he wanted to collaborate with someone who appreciated his mother’s passions and contributions to both the arts and fashion.

Franca Sozzani revolutionized fashion photography during her 28 years as editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue, creating some of the magazine’s most innovative and memorable spreads.

She launched her successful career in 1976 at Vogue Bambini, following her graduation from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan with a degree in literature and philosophy.

In 1988, she became the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, coinciding with Anna Wintour’s appointment as editor of American Vogue.

When Franca died in 2016, an American editor fondly remembered their thirty-year friendship, sharing that they hadn’t become instant friends at first.

She wrote that she and Franca became close friends, and she was incredibly happy and proud that their friendship lasted for 30 years.

‘That’s one thing that Franca taught me about friendship: Sometimes, you really have to earn it.’
