Cruz Beckham hits back at accusations he plagiarised The Beatles and Oasis as he launches his music career

Cruz Beckham has responded to accusations that his music sounds too much like The Beatles and Oasis as he starts his own career in music.

Twenty-year-old aspiring artist recently released his first two songs, “Optics” and “Lick The Toad,” and has been playing at small venues.

Cruz addressed online comments on Sunday, responding to claims that his music closely resembles that of famous bands.

He shared a screenshot of the comments on his Instagram Stories, adding the caption: ‘So, you’re saying, like… writing a song?’

‘Some people hurt my brain. Jealously ignites delusion. Bl**dy hell.’

This happened only a day after Cruz revealed a nasty injury on Instagram, posting a picture of his bandaged pinky finger on Saturday.

The photo showed the injured finger bandaged, and Cruz added a peace sign emoji on top of it.

Last week, Cruz showed affection with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, and his dad, David, gave him a supportive hug after he played a small, personal concert on Wednesday.

I was there last night, and it was incredible to watch him perform! He and his band, The Breakers, really put on a show for all of us – family and friends. Honestly, seeing him up there, doing what he loves, was so moving it brought my parents – and so many others – to tears. You could just feel how proud they were of him, and it was a really special night.

The youngest Beckham son shared photos from the fun evening on Instagram the next day, simply writing, ‘Amazing night,’ to describe the celebration with his family and friends.

Alongside photos of him with friends and bandmates, there was a sweet picture of Cruz embracing a smiling Jackie, who is 30 years old.

She shared an even more personal photo on her Instagram, showing her and her partner kissing passionately while both wearing similar fur coats. The photo was captioned simply, ‘for your love’.

They began dating in June 2024 and publicly confirmed their relationship in October by sharing photos together on Instagram.

Cruz shared a couple of heartwarming photos of his father, David, 50, proudly putting his arm around him.

The retired soccer player shared a video of Cruz performing online, saying it made him incredibly happy and proud.

David Beckham shared a heartwarming message about a family and friends night celebrating his son, Cruz. He expressed immense pride and love for Cruz and his current path, describing the evening as filled with love, joy, and happy tears. He tagged Victoria Beckham and Cruz Beckham in the post.

Proud mother Victoria, 51, was in the audience to support her youngest son’s performance and even shared a video of him singing and playing guitar.

She shared a video with a very enthusiastic message: ‘Wow!!! Cruz, you look so happy, and we’re incredibly proud of you! We love you @cruzbeckham xxxxxxxxxx.’

Cruz Beckham’s grandmother, Sandra, age 76 and also the mother of David Beckham, shared her pride for him publicly. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, a family friend, also posted a congratulatory message, saying he was very proud of Cruz ❤️.

Family friend David Gardner was also there, and he shared with his followers that Cruz’s performance was exceptionally good.

Romeo’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull showed her support, commenting on his Instagram post: ‘Go Cruz !’

During the set, Cruz performed his latest song Optics, a very explicit single about drugs and sex.

In the song, he raps about enjoying personal pleasures, including taking many self-portraits in bed and indulging in intimate activities, referencing both psychedelic experiences and sexual intimacy.

The song’s chorus goes, ‘Always stay stylish, don’t come down, don’t crash and burn – but I want to know what that looks like, and I want to know how it feels.’

His new single, ‘Lick The Toad,’ takes a different approach than his previous work, focusing on themes of nature rather than suggestive lyrics.

Jackie strongly suggested he’s planning to release his first album soon, playfully asking on social media, ‘Is it finally time to share what everyone’s been hoping for?’ and tagging Cruz Beckham.

Early in the year, news came out that Cruz had joined C3, a leading music management company known for working with the American indie band The Strokes.
