We’ve always loved Kate and Anthony, the main couple in Bridgerton season 2, and they were a highlight of the show. So, we were really disappointed when we started watching season four and realized Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley weren’t in it – at least, not on screen.

We were eager to find out what happened to Kanthony, why we weren’t seeing their story, and if they would be in the upcoming episodes (since there’s still more of the season to come). Here’s an update.

Okay, so if you remember season three, it was a big moment when Kate and her husband announced they were having a baby! She also mentioned how much she wanted to take him – and the little one on the way – to India. It was a really sweet storyline.

Anthony was deeply in love and naturally wanted to fulfill every wish of the woman he adored, even if she frustrated him. This explains why he and his wife were largely absent during the first part of Bridgerton‘s fourth season.

Are Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley going to return in Bridgerton season 4?

Even with their incredibly busy schedules, these popular actors consistently express enthusiasm about returning to work on the show.

Ashley shared at a recent press conference (according to People magazine) that she and her co-star, Johnny, are very fond of their characters, Kate and Anthony, and the connection between them, which is important to the show. She added that they’ll try their best to balance their busy schedules to make the relationship work, if possible.

I can’t get over how dedicated Jonathan Bailey is! I read that he was filming scenes for Wicked, Bridgerton, and Fellow Travelers all at the same time. That’s seriously impressive!

He recalled working for 32 days straight without a break, telling the Hollywood Reporter in 2024 that he traveled back and forth four times. He’d go directly from a 1960s-style cabin to the airport, sleep on the plane, then immediately head to a period ball, sleep there, and then go straight to rehearsals for Wicked to learn the dance routines.

Fans were concerned when Kate and Anthony weren’t featured in the initial trailer for Bridgerton season four. However, the show has confirmed that the beloved couple – along with their baby – will appear in the latter half of the season.

At the end of the fourth episode, a short trailer hints at future storylines. It shows what might happen with several main characters, including more romantic tension between Benedict and Sophie, the developing relationship between Violet and Lord Marcus Anderson, and the ongoing connection between Francesca and Michaela. We also get a quick look at Anthony and Kate with a baby.

The show’s creator, Jess Brownell, had already announced that this popular Bridgerton couple would be returning.

In a recent interview at Netflix’s Season of Love event, it was announced that both Anthony and Simone Ashley will be returning for another season. This means fans will continue to see the happy couple, ‘Kanthony,’ navigate their marriage and welcome their baby. It promises to be a joyful continuation of their story.

All we can say now is, hurry up part two.
