Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas were seen holding hands at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday, following their 25th wedding anniversary celebration.
As a lifestyle expert, I remember when Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones tied the knot! It was back in November of 2000 at the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City. They’d already started their family, having welcomed their son, Dylan Michael Douglas, before the big day – such a sweet time for them!
The couple recently went on a date with Dylan, age 25, and Catherine, 56, excitedly shared about their ‘fast track date night’ on Instagram.
Jenna Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday, looked stylish in black and white striped pants and a long-sleeved black shirt.
Catherine carried her things in a white bag over her shoulder and used an umbrella to stay dry in the rain.
I noticed Michael, who’s 81, was keeping things casual and understated. He was wearing a simple white long-sleeved shirt, topped with a vest and a cap – a really comfortable and classic look for him, it seemed.
Earlier this month, the couple posted cute old photos on Instagram to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
Catherine’s first post was a picture from their wedding day, showing them kissing on the beautiful marble steps of the famous hotel.
She was wearing her wedding dress, a silky, V-neck gown designed by Christian Lacroix.
A photo also surfaced showing when they first met – at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998.
The snap showed Catherine gazing longingly at Douglas as he seemed to be chatting to someone.
She shared pictures from their trip to India, including a photo of them at the Taj Mahal, a sweet selfie where they were close together, and a picture of Catherine playfully trying on a dress for her husband.
Even after 25 years of marriage, Catherine still seems deeply in love with Michael, as she shared in a heartfelt message celebrating their anniversary.
She started her message by recalling her wedding day, twenty-five years ago. She remembered the beautiful smell of flowers, the warm candlelight, and the lovely sound of a Welsh choir. Most of all, she remembered seeing him waiting for her at the end of the aisle, looking at her with the same loving gaze she’d always known.
‘I love you today as I did then. Thank you sweetheart,’ the actress concluded her note.
In the comments section of her post, a slew of A-listers shared their well-wishes for the couple.
‘Happy anniversary!!’ wrote actress Joy Sunday.
Actor Emilio Rivera typed, ‘Happy Anniversary, I wish you both many more years of happy.’
Actress Aurora Cossio also left a red heart in the comments section.
Their bond has stayed incredibly strong, particularly after Michael received a diagnosis of advanced oral cancer—stage IV squamous cell carcinoma—in 2010, as reported by the Oral Cancer Foundation.
He was diagnosed after he experienced a persistent sore throat.
Thankfully, he is now cancer-free, beating the disease a year later in 2011.
Michael said in a 2019 interview with Paris Match, as reported by People Magazine, that he gets checkups every six months.
‘I believe, and I hope, that I’ve escaped. One thing is certain, my cancer has made me a free man.’
