Hugh Jackman has talked about whether he might be in future Avengers movies, but he hasn’t given a clear answer. After recently playing Wolverine again in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans are wondering if he could return for another Marvel film.
The actor reprised his famous role in the superhero movie last year, having last played the character seven years prior. He originally debuted as the hero in X-Men back in 2000.
As Marvel gets ready to release the fifth and sixth Avengers movies – Doomsday and Secret Wars – there’s been talk that Hugh Jackman might make an appearance.

The upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, features a star-studded cast with Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, and Ian McKellen all set to appear.
Details about the story are mostly secret, but it’s expected to take place 14 months after the events of Thunderbolts. The film will follow multiple teams of heroes as they try to defeat Dr. Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Although Hugh Jackman might return as Wolverine, it doesn’t look like Famke Janssen will be back as Jean Grey. She’s stated that Marvel hasn’t contacted her about reprising the role since they took over the X-Men franchise.
She stated she’s never been asked to come back, not once. She finds it remarkable that this topic consistently arises in every interview she does, and she now understands it’s a significant point of discussion whenever she’s interviewed.
It’s humbling to know people still connect with this character after all this time. I expect she’ll be mentioned again whenever they make a new movie, like with Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on 18 December 2026.
