Ruby Wax’s secret feud with huge presenter is revealed after I’m A Celebrity star accused of them ‘stealing’ her career

Ruby Wax’s years-long disagreement with a well-known television personality is back in the spotlight now that she’s appearing on this season of ‘I’m A Celebrity.’

The 72-year-old TV personality is joining this year’s lineup for the ITV jungle show. Show producers are hoping she’ll be outspoken in camp and share stories about the famous people she’s known.

Ruby first became well-known in 1985 for her role as Shelley DuPont on the show Girls On Top, but she later focused on making documentaries.

She enjoyed a thriving career as an interviewer, and had the opportunity to speak with many famous people, including OJ Simpson and Donald Trump.

She accused Louis Theroux of copying her investigative style after he became famous, especially as her own career began to stall.

She revealed in an earlier interview on Adam Buxton’s podcast that she still feels angry with Louis, who is 55 years old.

Ruby responded, “I anticipated you’d bring that up. Could we please avoid talking about it? He took credit for everything we accomplished. I’ve put it behind me and started a new job, but even mentioning it makes me feel sick.”

She added: ‘I’ve evolved but there’s still a little bit of anger.’

In 2020, Ruby joined Louis on his BBC podcast, Grounded With, and explained that her frustration was with the broadcaster, not with Louis personally.

She confessed she hadn’t seen any of his documentaries before their interview, but clarified it wasn’t a reflection of him personally, but rather the topics he discussed.

‘Which is jealousy, envy, my failure, my dad’s disapproval… It’s my reality.

I noticed what you’re up to this morning, and it’s really impressive. You’re doing exactly what I should have been doing. I was previously focused on performing as a character – that’s how I earned a living, coming from my work on ‘Girls On Top’.

Ruby continued by revealing she is still compared to Louis on a weekly basis.

‘The name kept coming up over and over again, that it wasn’t even your name anymore,’ she said.

I often get asked about my past when I’m in taxis – people frequently ask if I used to work with Louis Theroux, or what I’ve been up to lately. It happens at least once a week.

Okay, so I was watching I’m A Celebrity on Thursday, and honestly, Ruby just completely shut down Tom Read Wilson! It was… amazing. And it’s wild because people were already trying to get her kicked off the show just days before for being a bit rude, but honestly, this was chef’s kiss. I’m obsessed, I can’t help it!

Tom, the 39-year-old receptionist from Celebs Go Dating, started his new role on Thursday, alongside Vogue Williams. They’ve both been named ‘Chief Explorers’ for the show.

This indicates they’re now in charge of the camp, and are even telling the other contestants what to do.

Tonight on the show, Tom surprised Ruby, who is 72 years old, by reciting a sonnet to her, beginning with the famous line: ‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?’

However, it appeared that comedian and presenter Ruby was not a fan of the full sonnet.

She asked Tom to skip the flowery comparisons and simply say she was as beautiful as a summer’s day.

Tom started practicing his singing scales in the creek, and his voice carried back to the other celebrities at camp.
